people mischaracterize gabriel SO OFTEN that it physically fucking hurts. he's one of the most powerful angels in heaven, so much so that he slaughtered the council and heaven itself is now scrambling to get him back (hence why providences and powers are there in the first place). yet people see that and go "oh! yeah that's a bottom with daddy issues and a massive whore who needs sugar daddy robot V1 to guide him around like a lost puppy". no? what? it also annoys me how people seem to gloss over the fact he's canonically NB and lacks reproductive organs because fetishizing him is more fun? don't get me wrong i love him too but. really?
also SISYPHUS ENJOYERS RISE UP I BEG. why does he get so little attention? sisyphus is almost just as prominent a character as minos (in the lore), is canonically MORE POWERFUL than him too, requires a whole-ass set of trials to get to him and yall are telling me you don't care for any of it? people talk more about the bloody level than the guy that caused the level to exist. it sometimes feels like the fandom doesn't care much for the characters they can't sexualize.
obviously there's nothing wrong with finding any of the aforementioned characters attractive or even not finding them attractive at all, but it's just. a bit of a joke now

Let's be honest, a good chunk of why people don't pay attention to Sisyphus is because he's a black man. I've seen people mischaracrise him as more angry/unreasonable/cold than he actually is and dismiss him so many times.
good point. i mentioned this to a group of moots prior to the post but felt kinda guilty about it? i thought "oh, gabriel's also black but in a more literal sense" and realised that's stupid
it really sucks to see him mischaracterized like that - it's so much worse than everyone else. the fandom only seems to see sisyphus as the angry manipulative bastard that tried to rebel against heaven that one time, or as just another character to ship with minos and/or gabriel.
i don't talk about it often, but sisyphus is probably one of my favourite characters in ultrakill (yes i know there's few anyways) because he's so interesting and his lore is so cool, but people don't seem to care because he has a wider body type and is/was a poc. he's harder to fetishize and less conventionally attractive, so he's lowered to just an object to ship.
