One day you stumble upon a 15 year old girl, crying, away from any crowds of people. She could be dangerous, taking drugs or maybe lost. She looks scared. What do you do in such a situation? What kind of day would you have to have to make such a decision?
It wouldn’t matter what kind of day I personally was having. I would ask her if there is anything I can do for her. If she seems to be a threat to herself, I would sit down with her and listen to her. If she told me to leave her alone, I would write down my phone number and tell her I am here if she needs someone. If she tells me to leave her alone and seems to be a threat to herself I would be straight up and tell her I am not leaving until I am sure she is safe. If she seems to be a threat to others I would call the police. I have not been with a 15 year old for a situation like this. But I have had moments like this with strangers and even one time took a girl home, because her boyfriend was being abusive to her in a parking lot, I was about to go into the store and instead turned to them and told her I would give her a ride home if she wanted. I care about people and if they are hurting, I want to do my best in whatever moment I am in to stop the hurt even if it is just for a moment.
