it seems to be the way of people, doesn’t it? people don’t give up. it’s not a bad thing; it’s just a thing.

               Without a second thought, her smile widens. She’s excited, though she’s not quite sure why-- they haven’t seen Calianna in what now feels like a lifetime, but they’d gotten her letters a few months ago. They were a nice reminder of where they had been, how much they’ve changed, of the friends they’ve made. Most importantly, it was a reminder that she now has people who care about her, that love her even when she’s not around to make them laugh all the time or heal them up. She doesn’t just have the Mighty Nein now, she’s made friends she can keep in touch with. Friends she doesn’t have to hide from. “Me too!” Jester claims, almost immediately digging through her cloak to pull out the bronze necklace she’d gotten from Cali and show it to her, “And your ribbon! I glued it to my sketchbook, so I’ll never ever lose it. You know, like Yasha has all those flowers?”
