Last Thing About the Ackles-Hatefest [for now]

Look, what we do with characters in our own dirty little minds is our privilege.  We can make them top/bottom/sideways/crossways/halfways/whateverways we want.  But there is no obligation on reality's part to make it "canon".  Dean Winchester doesn't have to become romantic partners with Castiel; it's fun to write but we're talking about hardened warriors sharing the trenches and a bond that is unfathomable to anyone who has not been forced to war.  Jensen Ackles doesn't have to be having a 'totes hawt buttsechsin' affair' with Misha Collins; they can be friends without ever taking their pants off.

So when Jensen Ackles stands up and says "I'm kinda glad they weren't feeding the destiel flames" [although in a way that makes way more sense and is less blunt than the way I put it], the foamy-frothing-outraged fans should take that as a clue that maybe their "love" for an imaginary pairing has crossed from self-entertainment into entitlement...which is always a dangerous thing.
