Sylvia’s ‘friends’ were having a party -- although not the rager some of her classmates threw -- and she was naturally invited to provide her special brand of weird entertainment. She knew the only reason they ever invited her was because they thought her birthcharts and tarot card readings were cool, but it gave her something to do when she was done with homework so she usually tagged along.
She had her star chart smoothed out on a table and was making small marks on it as she created some birthcharts for people who had yet to get one from her. Sylvia always explained that just because the stars say something about them doesn’t mean it’s true, but they generally ignored her and blamed any problem they had on Mercury being in retrograde when really they just had nasty personalities.
Her current client of sorts walked away angry upon finding their rising sign was Gemini -- as if she could do anything about that -- and she was left alone for a breather. The party was slightly more hopping than usual since they had invited more new people than they usually did. One of the students they’d invited was Jinwoo; Sylvia knew he generally did live entertainment for bigger parties so she was surprised that he was here. She also wondered if he was getting paid, because she certainly wasn’t.
She closed her eyes for a moment and listened to the conversations swirling around her, but didn’t find any one of them interesting enough to tune into for long. Sylvia felt the seat next to her sag as someone sat down; she opened her eyes to see none other than the famously talented Jinwoo next to her.
