ʚ⟡ɞ notes: okay so brilliant season, not as good as season one but i had so much fun. it was really funny because i had an inkling about something that would happen because it didn't happen in season one and i told my coworker, and then fast forward to episode 7 and it happened. so that was insane. some of the episodes felt a little too filler but that's okay because the humour still stood well, but there were definitely things i wished happened. for example, the fact that there wasn't enough chris-bashing after he was fully ignorant after the events of ep7. like there definitely could have at least been some throwaway comments. anyway, james gunn rarely misses the mark and i do think this was still exceptional, and it is now exciting to see how this sets it up for the upcoming dc films.

after surviving being shot and then buried beneath a collapsing building, peacemaker returns home only to realize that his freedom comes at a price. he is now part of amanda waller's new team fighting a mysterious new threat. can he eliminate the threat without making things worse? starring: john cena, danielle brooks, freddie stroma . . . SERIALIZED: 4.13 MY RATING: 4.5

ʚ⟡ɞ notes: i've never really been a fan of any of john cena's characters across his filmography until gunn's the suicide squad dropped. and this made it even better. peacemaker is his best performance and you can really tell that he's put so much into loving this character in the same way gunn does. freddie stroma absolutely kills it as vigilante because he quickly became my favourite character from the very first scene of him. james gunn never misses a needledrop he's insane and definitely one of my top favourite directors for a reason. there's so much love put into every one of his projects down to the small details ( for example, vigilante's ringtone being barbie girl instead of something default ) and he ties in politics so perfectly that even the casual mentions are so impactful. i had such a good time that i pressed play and pretty much didn't stop until i finished season 1 so i'm super excited to see how season 2 goes! i really hope we get some of the original cast of his suicide squad back because the mention of ratcatcher 2 wasn't enough.
