You guys I'm taking an acting class and legit every single person in the class is ridiculously attractive and it's so hard to pretend I fit there lmao

Anyway there are two super super cute girls, one of them is hella femme and the other is v butch and I'm just. Overwhelmed. One of them is my scene partner rn though so we exchanged numbers which is niiiiiice. They also both know I'm not straight so the past two weeks have been an Adventure in trying to discover where they fall on the Kinsey scale.

First dress rehearsal for the production of "Carousel" I am opening in: I call this Carrie Pipperidge or Rogers and Hammerstein "Barbie"!

So today at Rent rehearsal we worked on choreographing "Rent", which for the ensemble, had some odd moves that led to even odder stage directions: "RIP THE POSTERS FROM THE WALLS AND TRASH THE STAGE" "Get reckt while Roger gets all emo" "JUMP OFF THE STAGE BALCONY (but don't hit the piano man)"

I JUST CAME HOME FROM A CALLBACK FOR “RAGTIME”

I was called a few days ago to come back and sing/read for Emma Goldman and when I sit down today and they all start the callbacks, realize they actually brought me back to read/sing for Mother.

Imma figuratively shit myself. This role. And the women in the room with me, who were all great, I held my own.

Holy shit.

This is going to be a long wait.

This is what it looks like when you thrift for theatrical productions, I am currently starring in (as Rapunzel!) and costuming a production of “Into the Woods” going up in March in Newport, Rhode Island and have just started thrifting like crazy to piece together costumes for my characters and ensemble members!

MISS PIPPERIDGE HERE I COME

So totally psyched to post that I have been cast as Carrie Pipperidge in a local dinner theatre production of “Carousel”! It is the company I was able to do “Mary Poppins” this last March.

But holy hell what a part. I haven’t been able to sink my teeth into this kind of singing (classic Rogers and Hammerstein) and acting (her scenes with Julie about abuse, the fight with Enoch and Jigger) in a long time.

Feel some flexing and dieting to come.
