Summary: Kit Connor has no idea what he’s getting himself into when he signs on for a new romance film. Thrown out of his comfort zone—riding motorcycles, navigating intense scenes, and blurring the lines between characters—he finds himself learning to trust his co-star in ways he never expected. But as the on-screen chemistry deepens, fans begins to wonder: is the romance really just acting? Or do the doe eyes and soft smiles from his scene partner—now his closest friend—feel a little too real?
Warnings: Slow burn, friends to lovers, coworkers to lovers, mature themes, explicit language, kissing, mentions of intimate scenes (let know if I missed anything) [nothing too serious in the first few chapters]
A/N: Hi! Welcome to one of my first works! I'm so excited to share this concept, so please feel free to comment and interact. This is ongoing and will contain multiple smaller parts that are all interconnected, that I will hopefully 🤞 have linked together in a masterlist.
*Disclaimer: this will mostly be a series of instagram and Twitter posts showcasing their online interactions/relationship, along with interview snippets and fan reactions. The first part is really the only one with excess narration*
First Glimpse
As production on their latest film nears its final scenes, Kit Connor and rising star Devin Evans are preparing to shift gears—from quiet set days to the buzz of press tours and red carpets. The film, still officially under wraps but rumored to be titled Through the Smoke, follows two lifelong best friends, Luke Preston (Connor) and Alex Dalton (Evans), whose bond is tested and transformed as they navigate a pivotal turning point in their relationship—set against the backdrop of motorcycles and the close-knit biking community they call home.
Connor, stepping into the role of Luke, plays a character both grounded and emotionally tangled. Evans’s portrayal of the bold, fiercely loyal Alex brings a steady vulnerability to a story that blends adrenaline, intimacy, and change. With filming wrapping up, the two leads have been given the green light to start posting about the project, offering fans their first glimpses into the world they’ve helped bring to life.

It starts off small—the speculation. Neither Devin nor Kit is surprised when a few comments start wondering if there’s more than just on-screen chemistry between them. They laugh about it quietly, tucked away in Devin’s trailer during the final stretch of filming.
Getting close was inevitable. The nature of the project—playing two people whose lives are deeply, emotionally intertwined—meant that any initial awkwardness had to fade quickly. And it did. Much quicker than either of them anticipated. Open conversations, late-night dinners, and long days on set helped them ease into a genuine friendship that felt effortless.
Devin had held a quiet admiration for Kit even before filming began. A fan of his previous work, she initially struggled to hide her amazement. But after a few weeks, the awe gave way to something warmer, more familiar, like the comfort you feel with someone who just gets you.
Her journey to the film was anything but conventional. Already part of the motorcycle community, Devin had been riding since 21, shortly after college. A longtime friend from a Facebook riding group tipped her off about the film when it was still in early casting. At first, she hesitated. She liked the life she was building. But he pushed her to audition, arguing she was perfect for the role, and eventually, she gave in.
A few callbacks and one chemistry read with Kit later, she was flying to Georgia to start filming in March.
And it turned out to be everything she never knew she wanted. She loved the work, the story, the character, the challenge of stepping so far outside her comfort zone. She loved representing the biker community, and most of all, she loved working with Kit.
He was infuriatingly sweet. Endlessly supportive. The kind of co-star who made everything easier, just by being who he was. Their friendship clicked almost immediately, and it became the steady foundation of the entire experience.
Of course, Kit was handsome—gorgeously so. And yes, he was the type of guy Devin would normally gush about to her friends. But between the late-night filming and stretches of highway, she’d come to understand what they had: a friendship. A real one.
anyways… ive started posting on wattpad again.. because i am obsessed with TLOU.. & bella ramsey… sooooooo, if u wanna read abt it — go to my wattpad! ive put my username in my masterlist riiight at the bottom!

Are you ready to fall in love with me?
interview with MTV
Interviewer - So, there is no denying that your characters are close, the whole idea of their relationship is that they've been best friends for years, how do you find that relationship so quickly when working with someone you've just met - because it's clear that you two have it.
Kit and Devin glance at each other, soft smiles twitching on their lips. Kit speaks up first.
Kit - I think in situations like these, you have to put in the effort to get to know the other person to make it feel like you have known each other forever.
He crosses his arms then continues.
I mean at this point it sort of feels like we have.
He jokes, looking to Devin.
Learning about the person you're working with is going to be your best chance at success, and I mean genuinely getting to know them. Me and Devin built a genuine friendship just by talking to each other, hanging out in our spare time, you know all the things that lead to friendship in normal circumstances. And, I think - at least personally- that there's real power in investing in a friendship that exists because you want it to not because it has to.
Devin nods, almost continuing Kit's thought for him.
Devin - We also really leaned into that friendship once we found it.
She pauses searching for her words.
I think it can sound a bit odd, but using that friendship is also equally important. Having trust and a sense of comfort with someone is great, but being able to utlize the trust and comfort does more than anyone cares to talk about.
She looks at Kit, him giving the slightest bit of a nod, encouraging her to continue.
Feeling safe and respected enough to approach Kit and talk about the things that maybe I was worried about or made uncomfortable with, was just as valuable as our - you know- playfulness or laughter.
You have to be willing to use that friend, as a friend.
She shrugs.
We were honest with each other from day one and that's really meant all the world.
We finished filming "Through the Smoke" a few weeks ago, so for once I was able to eat in peace
Also go check out some of our new interviews 😁✌️

mtv loved talking with you two! The world is going to fall in love with Luke and Alex
zoe.raught Has anyone else caught on to how softly they speak about each other? Their mtv interview almost had me tearing up
↪r.l.y I get the vibes that Kit is super protective over her even though she can clearly handle herself and there is something about that dynamic that has me nose diving into their lore
user10 part of me believes that this photo has nothing to do with the film and is just Kit and Devin being themselves
DevinEvans1 says the one who always comes into my trailer for lunch 🙄
kit.connor.12 this film cannot come out soon enough
heartbreaker I have a feeling this movie is going to do so much damage to my perception of love
↪abbyK the more I watch them interact the more I wonder if their relationship or the movie relationship will cause more pain, maybe it's just me, but I love them.
Kit and Devin sit side by side, their elbows brushing on occasion, but neither seems to mind or notice.
Interviewer - You guys have been so open about your friendship and this film does contain some more intimate scenes, how do you approach that when a friendship is so new?
Kit immediately looks toward Devin, his elbow bumping just the slightest against hers. She takes a moment, her expression becoming thoughtful and she takes a breath.
Devin - It can absolutely be a tricky thing to navigate. Obviously I'm new to this scene and I haven't figured out all the odds and ends of Hollywood, but I personally wanted to-
She looks at Kit searching for the right words
Approach it for what it was. I think we assume that actors and these films just hire intimacy coordinates and everything suddenly figured out, but it doesn't quite work like that.
He nods along to her words, listening carefully.
No one wants to admit it, but the reality is, in intimate scenes, the lines do blur. And those are moments where your body is real, and so are the hands that touch it. And I never wanted to pretend like that wasn't case.
I'm all for the scene, I signed up for it, and I'm so excited to brring it to life but theres no denying that it really is my waist or Kit's, they're not characters anymore and you have to talk about that.
She pauses, letting the words sink in. The gravity of her statement lingers in the air, but she continues with smile creeping onto her lips.
I made it a point to be upfront about feelings, even if they were negative ones, because I didn't want to dance around it. I tried to think a clever way to sort break the ice every morning without sweeping anything under the rug, um, and within a couple weeks of production I would tell Kit ‘good morning’ and then I would say 'Alright I'm going to fall in love with you today" and we'd laugh about the silliness of it and then slip into our roles easily. It became a sort of ritual and I think it worked to ground us from the start of the day.
Kit adjusts in his seat.
Kit - Everyone on this project wants to make these moments as comfortable as possible, but there's only so much you can do, and for whatever reason you-
He nods toward Devin
Sort of found the one thing people have yet to really try and that's just say it for what it is. I think part of the reason that we became friends so quickly and why that friendship didn't hold us back in the long run was because we never shied away from what we were being asked to do.
Devin - I mean who doesn't want to be told someone's falling in love with them everyday
She laughs, looking at Kit with what can only be described as a knowing smile.
Kit - Exactly!
He smiles wildly
My days started with a pretty lady telling me she loves me, can't get much better than that.
Devin only shrugs, as the interviewer launches into another topic.
I'm not sure if anyone has ended up down the same rabbit hole as hole as me, but I cannot stop watching Kit Connor and Devin Evans. Their interviews are so entertaining and their relationship is so wholesome.
@ hollyJames.
reply to @ josie.h NO! I've been literally doing the same thing. Have you seen the one with Attitude Magazine, because the way Kit surrenders to her every time is setting off so many green flags. Not to mention the way Devin talks about approaching the intimate scenes, not even seasoned actors talk with this much maturity.
@ kitConnorFan01
Kit and Devin's friendship is so pure and wholesome, and I know Kit could have chemistry with a brick wall if he had to, but something about them seems so natural. Are we sure this is the first time they've graced our screen?
@lukeDavis
Kit calling Devin a pretty lady and basically saying it’s a dream come true to have someone say they love you every morning even if it’s as a friend is so obviously flirting and I will not be taking any criticism
@lay.la.m
reply to @lukeDavis Does he really think we wouldn’t notice? His affection toward her is so obvious at this point.
