I few days ago I watched the action flick Boss Level (2021).
Very dumb but fun.
Action/comedy mixed with the time loop concept.
If you enjoy dumb action movies, can deal with Frank Grillo’s zero acting skills and you have the Hulu streaming service, I recommend it.
If you are going to pirate it, make sure it’s a rip from Hulu because it seems that there are two version of the movie floating around and the Hulu version has the better ending.
This Weekend (Friday June 28th - Sunday June 30th) at the Carolina Theatre of Durham, it’s the ActionFlix Film Series!
WHAT IS ACTIONFLIX?
Action! To some it just means violence, but the greats of action cinema give us something more, turning shootings and explosions into something artful and often spectacular. From the taciturn classics of the ’70s, through the cartoonish ’80s and on to the super-heroic 90s, ActionFlix offers that elusive combination of a great story, unforgettable characters, and an unmatched technical mastery of stunts 'n' squibs necessary to transcend genre thrills and achieve great cinema.
Movies to be shown include:
Luc Beeon’s The Fifth Element (1991)
Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket (1987)
Guy Hamilton’s Goldfinger (1964) [55th Anniversary Presentation!]
Iain Softley’s Hackers (1995)
Mark DiSalle & David Worth’s Kickboxer (1989) [30th Anniversary Presentation!]
John Huston’s The Man Who Would Be King (1975)
Bruce Malmuth’s Nighthawks (1981)
Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction (1994) [25th Anniversary Presentation!]
Andrey Konchalovskiy’s Runaway Train (1985)
Steve Barron’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)

All of the Marvel/DC Superhero/ine fight sequences can never come close enough to even touch the level of awesomeness that was inbuilt in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
The fantasy, the myths, the symbolism, the cinematography, the DRAMA - an action movie with adequate drama!!
AND the fight sequences, especially, especially the fight scenes between Yu Shu Lein (the brilliant Michelle Yeoh) and Jen Yu (Zhang Ziyi). And the one in the bamboo forest - so poetic!.
This movie gave some some of the best fighting sequences dominated by women! Out of all the fighters in the movie, only one of them is a man, the rest 3 are female.
And the majority of this film is from the female characters' perspective. Rather than as it happens in an action movie dominated by men. The male character - Li Mu Bai has cameos here and there. Important scenes but cameos compared to the scenes between the two principal female characters.
Long before we had women superhero Marvel/DC movies.
I don't know why no one talks about that movie anymore!
People talk endlessly about Matrix films and Kill Bill sequels but these film can't touch the shadow of this movie.
Fun fact: This expert kicker of asses starred on Bioman, the Super Sentai series that would inspire Saban himself to create Power Rangers.
Coupled with the music from Jackie Chan’s Wheels on Meals and enjoy the flying fists.

Anyone looking for an entertaining, simple action movie, I enjoyed a german flick on Netflix called Sixty Minutes.
it's about a MMA fighter who runs away from a fight because his ex-wife threatens to request sole custody of their daughter unless he shows up at the kid's birthday party in one hour.
On his way are at least two groups of criminals that want him to return to the ring because there are lots of money depending on the fight, besides other shady deals that are revealed through the movie.
It's a silly premise and the low budget shows in some places, but the tone is mostly lighthearted and I liked things like all the fighters being realistically exhausted by the end.
Besides, unlike many action films, nobody dies in this. Lots of injured people, tho.
The movie can be found on Netflix and Prime Video, I believe.
