Day 30: Gift So I actually did get this amazing gift from my father yesterday. 8 graphic novels of Saga! I have a contentious relationship with my father. He very often edits my existence so it works within his framework. Example: I am married to a man and we live only with each other. Therefor he can gloss over things I find important like being bi and poly. It's not real to him because he doesn't ask about my four other long-term lovers because he doesn't want to know. Fair. We play nice. He doesn't ask I don't bring it up. But every once in a while we have a conversation where he actually asks about what I like. He was shocked to find out I think most hero books are kinda meh. I like other things like Halo Jones, Trees. Saga, ElfQuest, Sandman, Monstress, Bitch Planet. It's rare that we get those moments, and so it's more than just a gift. For a rare few seconds my dad saw me instead of the me in his minds eye. And remembered.
