Teaching kids about social inequality and an uncensored version of world history is necessary. So is encouraging them to do their own research on topics and help out others in whatever ways they can.  But it’s also important to remind them that there stuff they won’t  be able to do due to the positions they’re currently in and that they don’t have be activists 24/7.

So busy!

Gosh! I have had such a hectic few days I simply cannot imagine how it would’ve been possible if I was tied down with a job or study!

On Friday I realised I had run out of groceries so I went to buy more. Having all day to do this I visited three different stores, carefully comparing prices and quality of produce to make sure I only bought the freshest, most succulent food at the cheapest price. This included oats, lamb, plums, strawberries, apples, capsicum… all the good stuff. Allowing me to have tasty and nutritious meals for the next week, including my beloved free range chicken tendies.

Saturday I joined a workshop with a local group of activists campaigning to improve public services and raise taxes to increase welfare for NEETs. I learnt many things from these new friends and stuck around for the drinks they had planned with a local sympathetic senator. It was very rewarding having one on one time with a senator and she praised the important contribution I and other NEETs make to our society.

Sunday was mostly spent with your girlfriend. I asked her why she couldn’t spend this free time with you but she said you were too busy preparing for the week ahead at work and didn’t have time. With this summer being so hot we spent the morning at the beach before retreating from the heat in my cool apartment after lunch. Today has been a pleasant rest form all this activity, drinking a few beers in the heat and submitting my application to the reality show Survivor. I expect to be a strong contender for the title of sole survivor because of the many skills and talents I have had the time to teach myself over my lifetime of NEETness.
