I decided to pick the movies based on how much I love Blanchett's performance/presence in them, not just movies I love in general (though I'm a big fan of all of these of course).

Tár (2022) - I had to include it, I just know it's a movie and a performance that I'll keep coming back to!

Coffee and Cigarettes (2003) - Blanchett plays both herself and her own (fictional) cousin 👌

I'm Not There (2007) - Her Bob Dylan is unmatched. Also, uh... I'm a simple guy :))

Gene Hackman:

The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) - Absolutely no question about that, Gene as Royal is divine.

Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987)

Superman (1978) - Sorry about the confusion, I think it was autocorrect 🤷‍♂️

Scarecrow (1973) - I'd like to use this limited space to come out as a Max/Lion true love supporter 🌈

Marlon Brando (who would've been 99 on this day, by the way :O):

Apocalypse Now (1979) - His performance is well worth the 2 hour wait.

Last Tango in Paris (1972) - Controversy aside, I think it's one of his most vulnerable and emotional roles.

A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) - A performance so good I actually feel physically sick when watching him as Stanley. I totally understand he didn't want people associating him with the role or thirsting after him for it :/

I just realized none of these Brando films are an easy watch for me, but I still love them 😅

Hey there! Of course, I'm still doing them and I'll never say no to De Niro 😁 Thank you for suggesting him ❤

1) How many movies I've seen him in: 15

2) How I feel about his acting: I see a lot of people comparing him to Pacino and it’s true that they’re almost opposite in some ways. De Niro’s not very expressive, but he transforms into his characters through subtle changes in his demeanor, and I admire that. Of course expressive emotional acting can be wonderful, but his subtlety doesn’t mean every De Niro character feels exactly the same, it’s just a different approach that works for him perfectly. 

3) How I feel about him as a person: I live for his deadpan, dry sense of humor. Watching his interviews feels like sitting down with a favorite uncle, and I think that says a lot about my opinion on him haha. 

4) My favorite role he played: I had a tough time choosing, so I’ll just say two. My true favorite’s Louis from Jackie Brown (I love your icon, by the way), he seems like kind of an unusual character for De Niro, but he’s freaking hilarious. He’s like a human version of raccoon, does it make sense? And then I have to mention Captain Shakespeare from Stardust. That was my first encounter with De Niro and I still have a major soft spot for him ❤ 

5) My least favorite role he played: I hate to say this, because he was the best part of the movie in my opinion, but Al Capone in The Untouchables. The movie disappointed me so much and I’ll probably never watch it again, not even for Robert.

1) How many movies I've seen him in: 15... which i way more than I expected. And going back through his filmography, I realized he was in 3 movies with David Bowie. Wow. Also, I only found out he was in Finding Nemo and Spider-Man maybe three weeks ago. I’ve known him for so long and yet I was living under a rock 😆

2) How I feel about his acting: He’s a terrific actor, of course, but then there are his facial expressions and that distinct voice that all make his performances positively captivating. Like he’s one of those people you see once and never forget them. Maybe I’m not the best person to say that though, having seen so many of his movies haha. 

3) How I feel about him as a person: I know I say this about most of these actors, but you guys are just sending me great people to talk about - anyway, I really love him. He’s funny in a goofy kind of way, which is one of the best types of funny. Not to mention he’s just iconic 😍 

4) My favorite role he played: Jopling in The Grand Budapest Hotel. The movie’s cute and he’s actually really funny, but he scares me every time I watch it. Come on, someone who throws a cat out of the window is the definition of a bad guy, right?

5) My least favorite role he played: I don’t even know if the character has a name, it’s just a guy in one scene in The Hunger. I don’t even remember if he had a line or anything, so here we go XD.

Gene Hackman for the actors game!!

1) How many movies I’ve seen him in: 6

2) How I feel about his acting: I have yet to see him in a role that isn’t a cool but slightly emotionally unavailable/cocky middle-aged man... but I wouldn’t say it’s just my choice of movies and not his lack of range haha. I enjoy his acting and I’m looking forward to seeing more varied characters of his!

3) How I feel about him as a person: I haven’t seen any of his interviews and I have no idea what he’s like in real life, but my favorite fun fact about him is that he was on the list of Nixon’s enemies. I mean, who wouldn’t want that, haha. 

4) My favorite role he played: The titular Royal Tenenbaum in The Royal Tenenbaums. It’s one of Hackman’s later roles, but he’s still as odd and savage as ever 😎 And of course his ex-wife’s Anjelica Huston, which gives Royal so many bonus points (only if he didn’t let her go, that’s just bullsh*t). 

5) My least favorite role he played: Honestly, I loved him in all the movies I’ve seen so much, I just can’t choose my least favorite in this case.

For the actor ask: Katherine Hepburn

Hey! Thank you for the ask, but it's going to be a little disappointing, because I've seen her in exactly one movie hah. I'll try my best though ❤

How many movies I’ve seen her in: 1... but my friend recommended Long Day's Journey into the Night to me recently, so I'm sure I'll expand my knowledge soon.

How I feel about her acting: From my first encounter with her, I'd rate her acting pretty highly. She has a distinct way of speaking as well as a unique voice and she's simply beautiful to me.

How I feel about her as a person: She seemed somewhat detached from the celebrity culture of Old Hollywood, which is interesting and it had to be tough to keep up. As much as I love Old Hollywood drama, I respect this a lot!

My favorite role she played: Since it's the only thing I've seen her in, it's got to be Amanda in The Glass Menagerie. I really liked it though!

My least favorite role she played: And for that reason there's no answer to this question haha.

john malkovich for the actor game <3

How many movies I’ve seen him in: 5 (I need to watch more oh my)

How I feel about his acting: It’s really specific, and I mean that in the best way. There’s a certain gentleness to his acting, which I really enjoy. Oh, and he plays ‘alluring’ so well I instantly believe him every time 😁

How I feel about him as a person: I’m not very knowledgeable on his life, but he comes off as a cool guy in his interviews and I really really like it when he speaks French. 

My favorite role he played: Unlike Al Pacino, I love him playing himself in Being John Malkovich. That’s one of the most impressive movies I’ve ever seen and I can’t imagine many actors who would pull this off as well as he did!

My least favorite role he played: I didn’t dislike him anywhere, but his role of the old artist Piers in Velvet Buzzsaw seems the least memorable to me.

How many movies I’ve seen him in: 14

How I feel about his acting: I never really thought about his acting, because I'm just so excited to see him whenever he comes on screen haha. But I think he's a wonderful comedic actor and he can bring a surprising twist to all of his roles. I've seen him play some excellent dramatic roles as well!

How I feel about him as a person: Love love love him! His interviews make me so happy. He's intelligent, sweet and complex, one of the most enjoyable people to watch just be themselves. His casual talk show Park Bench is the best if you just want to see more of him.

My favorite role he played: Probably his lead role as Adolpho in In the Soup. I highly recommend the movie to anyone who enjoys independent cinema, it's weird and has the best NYC atmosphere.

My least favorite role he played: Eh... I don't hate him in the movie, but Walter in Hubie Halloween - just because it's a terrible Adam Sandler comedy and Steve deserves better XD

Al Pacino

How many movies I’ve seen him in: 21

How I feel about his acting: On the whole just A+ acting, so much variety in his roles and his approach to them. I’m not really fond of the infamous “shouty” acting he’s been known for since the 90s though. I think his strength lies in the more subtle, emotional acting.

How I feel about him as a person: I don’t know enough about his personal life and I haven’t seen many interviews, but he seems like a kind, hardworking guy. Oh, but if his documentary Looking for Richard is an accurate depiction of his real self, I’d LOVE to meet him, he was super relatable in that one. 

My favorite role he played: It’s not his best movie by any means, but Ivan in Author! Author! is my ultimate favorite. It was the first movie with Al I’ve seen, too!

My least favorite role he played: I don’t want to start an Adam Sandler hate feast here, but I’ll say his role as himself in Jack and Jill. I appreciate he can make fun of himself, but I felt physically uncomfortable watching that movie 😆
