Kenneth Colley, Star Wars Fan Favorite Admiral Piett, Has Sadly Passed Away
Kenneth Colley portrayed Admiral Piett in the original 'Star Wars' trilogy and Jesus in Monty Python's 1979 comedy 'Life of Brian'
Kenneth Colley, the actor who played Captain then later Admiral Piett in "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" passed away June 30th. He was 87 years old.
A highly acclaimed actor, Kenneth appeared on stage, film and tv. He appeared in "Poirot" episode, "The Disappearance of Mr. Davenheim" as the apparent victim Mr. Davenheim and as Jesus in Monty Python’s "Life of Brian".
To countless fans though, Kenneth will best be remembered for his role of Captain Piett who thanks to Darth Vader was soon promoted Admiral Piett and would become the Imperial officer who escaped Vader's disappointed and managed to live. Fans responded so well to his character that Kenneth was brought back as Admiral Piett in "Return of the Jedi".
He loved interacting with his many fans and was a beloved costar by his fellow actors and actress.
He shall be sadly missed but never forgotten.
Another one gone
Rest in Peace Val Kilmer
Reading fan comics or reimagining newer scenes in the voices of the original actors is my favorite pastime
A new star has joined the heavens tonight.
May he Rest In Peace and may his family find solace in these hard times. My heart goes out to the Boseman family.
He’s ready for his next adventure. RIP Ian Holm ⭐️
