I have a YouTube channel, simply called Arcsin! It’s more of a hobby and my upload schedule is nonexistent but I do enjoy making videos! Mostly gaming and reactions with a few memes sprinkled in, and I’d love to expand it to speedpaints and animatics someday!
I have a sideblog dedicated to the scifi fantasy series I want to write someday, Steldomo! The blog is aptly named @steldomo, and it has art and some story ideas. You could also explore some tags here to see my ideas, such as #steldomo, #my characters, #my ocs, #my story, or some characters names!
I have another sideblog, @shared-english-vas, where I scroll through the website Behind the Voice Actors and document my findings, looking for the funniest instances of characters with the same actor. For example, did you know that the voice actor of Mephiles from Sonic 06 might’ve been in bootleg film Ratatoing? Or that Overhaul from My Hero Academia plays Freddy Fazbear in a couple fnaf games? Or that Prince Zuko from ATLA guest starred in some fanmade Homestuck dubs?

always thinking about how as characters they both face the conflict of "am i truly unlovable as a person?" and this is a central part of why they're narrative foils in terms of their relationships with others. (since they diverge based on how they react to this conflict as individuals) it makes me want to write an essay about it some time
adasou doujin the end of the world have 3 volumes and each of them contain more or less 123 pages will anyone ever love me the way pixiv user S木 love this ship
"tongues & teeth" by the crane wives as an adashu song, notably for late game/accomplice end.
tongues & teeth is a song in which someone who is toxic/abusive/a bad person explicitly tells the person in love with them that they cant be fixed/won't change (albeit with small hints that they MIGHT be capable of it, but refuse to be changed) & will mistreat them.
adachi is, at his core, someone who [until post-game] refused to change his ways of thinking, negative outlook, & social/emotional isolation/bottling. this, of course, contrasts with yu who stays positive & wished to be with adachi--Foils.
⬆️ hes grown tired of the world around him & his life & by the time yu has entered his life, hes become the bad man he is today [in the game's present overarching story]. no matter how much kindness yu tries to extend & no matter how much he hopes to get adachi to see & follow his mindset, he refuses to comply. (for the kiss bit... if u will direct ur eyes to the image of adachi pointing his gun at yu)
yu's entire thing is believing in ppl & his bonds with them & its no different with adachi. a part of the final fight is even spent wishing that adachi hadnt ended up how he had & wishing they couldve been friends. throughout adachis social link, even Before his reveal, adachi turns down becoming Too close to yu as he believes yu is just pitying him or using him to fill his own loneliness. he understands that the boy wants him to be better, but as he was "wronged by the world" & is a shitty depressed vioIent man, he doesnt want the boys kindness. he refuses to be a basket case.
NOTE: correct 2nd lyric line in the 2nd pic is "i will love you", not "I love you"
⬆️ in the accomplice ending, when yu tells adachi that hes on adachis [the killers] side, he Repeatedly asks yu if hes sure & knows that that means siding with the killer, to which of Course yu knows & is still siding with him regardless. he also gives yu a few Out options as to whether or not the boy wants to burn the paper & do something illegal + become adachis accomplice. all this repeated asking mirrors the line in the repeated line in the song "if ur fine with that, u can be mine like that." like an implied warning to turn back now & the decision will mean Bad/Danger. adachi knows that by siding with him, hes abandoning all he knows to become his accomplice & incriminate himself for his love/bond. also, the confrontation where he basically tells yu to give up on him & come defeat him as a good little youthful hero squad should. he fires his gun... yet its only a warning shot.
he will taint (& has already, via the boy choosing to bexome his accomplice. the perfect golden boy, now in cahoots w a criminal) yu now that he has him. or maybe he wont, & leave the boy in an indefinite state of dread. but regardless, he wont love him the way yu loves him. he's poisoned all that was good [the truth giving in to lies. clear skies marred by fire smoke.].
⬆️ as stated in the 1st part up there (these 2 r very similar, but im doing the lyrics chronologically, except the part above which features the final part bc it mirrors the chorus), yu truly believed he was friends/close with adachi. they had a "bond" & he believed the facade adachi played out. adachi tells yu that the ver of him in yu's head is an idealized farce & his heinous murderer self is the true one, ie he wasnt what yu was dreaming of & he never will be (which is echoed in the final fight in a different mannet, in which hes saying he never couldve turned out any better & he is the way he is now). he sees how yu seems close to him, whether out of pity or desire for companionship. he shuts it down, telling yu to go to his friends instead [< manga only].
yu had a wish in his head that he & adachi couldve been friends had adachi not done what he did & believed in the world around him... even if that cant be the case anymore. the bridges burned. the deeds committed.
⬆️ adachi knows none of this is for real (also ties into the last lyric part, abt feelings he cant/doesnt return). just like the old lady, yu either pities him or [if after nanako is hospitalized] is using him to remedy some of his own loneliness by reaching out to someone lonely enough that he can "give a charity act to" [< manga only]. & yu is 10 yrs his junior & has everything he didnt/doesnt.
to understand the shoe line, one must understand that its implying that the answer to "fixing them" or their vulnerability will be seen in a "blink & u'll miss it" split second & if the person misses it, then thats all the better for the singer bc they dont want to be changed.
adachi is a lonely man whos extremely depressed, but yu doesnt need to fully know this. he even lies & brushes off anything regarding affection & says hes single bc hes holding out for someone better & said he had a girl at 1 point. but it becomes obvious throughout his social link the extent of his loneliness & impacted view of self. its seen in the small moments where he lets something slip, auch as the famous "it doesnt have to be me" [< game version] & in the way he looks at the old ladys son, tohru, after the plot twist.
u can also interpret it literally, as in while yu has many things he doesnt, he has 1 thing yu & the IT didnt until late game: The Truth. the knowledge that he committed the murders. that he, like them, has tv powers. but them not knowing lends well to his game of cat & mouse. naturally, the Leader not knowing this while hes "Friends" with said leader is something for him to smirk at.
⬆️ & in the end, while adachi did manage to change his mindset somewhat & have a desire to repent (& he shows more of his real personality now that hes been outed from his facade), technically he still possesses his cynical rude personality & refusal of yu's "bond" he thinks they share. yu didnt Completely manage to fix or change him. (I understand the img is from a crossover game. but he p much acts like that in ultimax as well. ive hit the img limit i cant include ultimax stuff here ok work w me)
When I say "shuake are soulmates" I'm not talking about Yaldobaoth choosing to pit them against each other. What I actually mean is that even before Joker and Akechi met, their souls (personas) already chose each other.
Robin Hood and Loki predate any of the phantom thieves' personas. What is Robin Hood? An honorable thief. Basically a counterpart to Arsene's gentleman thief.
Even more interesting is Loki. The rest of the Thieves only get their persona upgraded to a 'mythological trickster' upon their second awakening. From a purely gameplay perspective, you spend time with Joker's friends in order to give them stronger personas (grind and reward).
But Loki is known as a trickster god in Norse mythos. He is already a mythological trickster. From the beginning, Akechi was already what Joker needed him to be.
And then there's Arsene, who is so blatant that he's the reason I clocked shuake's soulmatism from the moment Joker awoke him (literally in kamoshida's palace I figured Joker would meet a detective rival in the story). Basic Arsene Lupin lore is that the character was written by author Maurice Leblanc as the 'French response' to Sherlock Holmes (for copyright reasons it's herlock sholmes).
Arsene exists because of Sherlock. So of course Joker is so obsessed with Akechi in-canon. That's literally what his soul is built for.
There's another layer to this.
The name "Goro Akechi" is inspired by the Japanese detective character "Kogoro Akechi" written by Japanese author Edogawa Ranpo (this is also the reason I clocked akechi as the rival the moment he introduced himself, I did my time in the BSD fandom). Kogoro Akechi is a detective character heavily inspired from Sherlock Holmes.
Edit: Forgot to mention that Kogoro Akechi's most infamous rival in the novels is named Kaijin or 'fiend/strange person' (originally Kaito Niju Menso, or Phantom Thief with Twenty Faces). Ranpo based that character on Arsene Lupin.
So Joker's soul is a thief character written to rival Sherlock Holmes, while Akechi's name comes from a detective character written to emulate Sherlock Holmes. Alone, they are incomplete. They've been searching for each other from the very beginning.
Joker and Akechi are fully soulmates, regardless of evil gods using them as pawns. No one else matches to the degree that they do, no one is as entwined as they are. Nothing had to trigger or evolve for this to happen either. They were just made for each other.
