On Sunday I went to see the amazing @sarahmaguire in "The Becoming" by Katie Pollock at the New Theatre. Based on a novella by Franz Kafka, the play explores how we react to and deal with change. The idea of change is everywhere in this play, and using the examples of extremism and eco terrorism, the play explores the dynamic of one family and how they react to and understand their increasingly dangerous environment. Eh, that's what I got from it. Open to interpretation!! Sarah was wonderful, leading the plot as the main character and keeping the story moving. It's an interesting play, where the main character really isn't the main character and simply is on stage the most rather than being the focus of the play. And Sarah was generous, giving the others their time and playing opposite them in whatever style was needed. Thank you for inviting me Sarah.
