This time last year I made my burlesque debut in the Fly Honey Show. This show was literally life changing for me. When I saw the show in 2018, it was like a spiritual experience. The energy built up in the room was like NOTHING I have ever felt before. Then actually being part of the show last year? I am still struggling to find the words to describe the feeling of being in a space like the @theflyhoneys. It is awe inspiring, encouraging, supportive, and challenging in the best way possible. I have never felt so held and comforted during a rehearsal process that was also shaking me to my core. Encouraging me to break through the years of self doubt, of carrying negative images of myself, my body and my personhood. The atmosphere that Erin, Alyssa, and Casey create is so purely filled with compassion, grace and a ferocious love of everyone they bring into that space. Everyone is seen, heard, cheered on and loved. I am eternally grateful for the experience and I can not wait until we can all be shaking our stingers together.
