the wisdom of martinez
we have a guy on our softball team whose last name is martinez, and he's probably one of the funniest guys i know. (he's also damn cute.) a few gems:
me: justin, why the hand injury? martinez: he was probably jacking off.
martinez: hey jen, be careful when you're up there to bat! (to lexie: she just seems to me like she'd be the kind of girl to hit herself in the head....)
martinez: (when the shortstop dylan makes an amazing diving catch and tags the runner and makes a great from-the-dirt throw right to lexie at second base so she can easily catch it for another out) hey NICE CATCH, LEX!
martinez: (right after i got a great hit but accidentally threw the bat afterwards and almost got kicked out of the game because it was such a violent throw) jen which way do you usually pose for pictures? (me: why?!) martinez: i just want to stay on your good side, is all.
the ONLY downside to martinez is that apparently, so says justin, "he can't hang." justin was like "dude i went out with him a few times and he was dancing with the toilet the whole fuckin night. you stop throwing up in fucking UNDERGRADUATE school six years ago. he just can't hang." and i was like "MARTINEZ I'D DATE YOU AND I DON'T CARE IF YOU CAN'T HOLD YOUR LIQUOR LET'S MAKE BEAUTIFUL BABIES" but i didn't say it. i was close though (;
also.... i don't even know this guy's first name. he is MARTINEZ.
hah, and one last related funny thing that is silly but whatever. justin sends our whole team mass texts because he's the captain, right? and whenever we get texts they start with: "hey friends, and martinez." hah!
