logic is telling me you should just straight up say no thanks (and if he hasn't said it was a date you don't have to address it like one, imo) but in that position, in reality, I'd probably freak out and be like "Nope. Nope. Nope."
He hasn’t said it’s a date, which does make it harder. At the time when he asked me, I thought we could best be friends, but I have since then realized that I should prioritize, as he’s nice but we don’t really have anything in common. But this makes it harder to tell him I’ve changed my mind as I already sort of said yes...

Best thing at this point may be to either just tell him you aren't interested over a Facebook or text message or say yes to coffee and tell him in person.
I thought this over and I think agreeing to hang out with him this once might be a good idea. It will probably be rather awkward, so that can give me a starting point for explaining that he’s a nice person, but we have almost nothing in common and so I’m not interested in developing a friendship. Explaining face to face would probably be the most polite thing.

Whew...that's tough. I mean, I think the correct answer is probably obvious - let him know that you're not interested. But that's easier said than done. -_-'
Yeah, I didn’t think it would go on for so long, I was certain that if I evaded him for a couple months I could avoid the inevitable.
Thanks for the advice and encouragement everyone! I really appreciate it, as I’m really bad at dealing with these types of situations. Here’s to hoping it all goes well!
