So this is my first Halloween in Canada and I was super nervous about having to deal with trick or treat people making me answer the door.  Except now it’s nearly 8pm and we haven’t had a single one yet and there’s a whole bucket of chocolate sitting by the door waiting.  I actually lit up the porch and put a couple of decorations outside because I was getting impatient.

I happened to be in Japan for Halloween last year and it was epic.  I got free ghost cookies on my pancakes - there was an all out riot at Universal Studios with Thriller zombies and escaped prisoners with chainsaws - There were parades that started from the 25th - and hundreds of people walking around in costume all over Shibuya. 

Canada has provided me with two weirdly decorated lawns full of plastic pumpkins.  I feel like a should be relieved but instead I’m just disappointed.
