stranger things post season 1 fanfic idea
Ok so imagine that after season 1 Nancy, Steve and Jonathon all wanted to make sure that they could defend themselves, the kids and everyone else should another gate open. So, they end up taking some self-defence classes and, in the process, all become really close friends. Ships don't matter for this. Personally, I love Jancy and Steddie but it could be Stoncy could work too or anything else, dealers' choice
Anway the 3 of them form a group and at school. People trying messing with and bullying (Carol, Tommy, later Billy etc) them, but they quickly shut that down. None of them try to make a show of it or anything but people begin to notice, especially taking note of how quickly they shut down would be bullies and how nonchalant they are about it. After all, what are some high school bullies compared to actual monsters from another dimension?
However, as impressive as the school finds this, what really catches people's attention is how they stand up for other people. Again, they don't try to draw attention or look for praise, they just don't want to be passive bystanders when they could do something about it and when they victims remind them of their bothers, or his children (Mama Steve for life)
Ok... so maybe they sometimes purposefully humiliate the bullies but sometimes that's the only way people learn.
At first the 3 don't realise that they've become the new royalty of Hawkins High. Honestly all 3 of them have bigger problems to deal with between nightmares (their own and the others' too), taking the kids to and from places, homework, training... and for Steve nothing has really changed for him as he never fell from his title in this au
When they do notice, Nancy quickly realises that she they can use it to their advantage. Making the school safe for everyone, ensuring that people aren't walking around by themselves (they're still paranoid) and whatever else she comes up with. All the while Steve and Jonathon just nod along and help where they can.
Bonus points if mean girl Steve, Jonathon and Nancy make an appearance along with the whole school collectively thirsting over them.
Double bonus points if the party see's that they are learning to fight, thinks it awesome and end up learning themselves. They all have to promise that they will only use what they learn to defend themselves and others and they do and whilst they don't exactly become Hawkin's royalty, they are certainly untouchable.
Obviously when Max and El join them at school, let's just pretend that the Byers' never left Hawkins, they absolutely can also fight and when people see them as an easy way to mess with the Party, well let's just say that's not a mistake that anyone else makes
