Hey anyone wanna proof read the first part of my draft for the pilot breakdown trick question I'm posting it anyway

The pilot opens on a shot mimicking one from the very beginning of act TWO, page 248/2148 depending where you're reading.

Homestuck was part of a series called "MS Paint Adventures", so at first homestuck page 1 was instead MS Paint Adventures page 1901. Later when homestuck gained popularity it got its own website where Homestuck started from page 1. The current version of the official homestuck website currently has homestuck start on 1901 however fan recreations like the Unofficial Homestuck Collection or https://homestuck.kici.moe/ start it on page 1 or have a toggle between the two.

Through this video I will refer to page numbers assuming homestuck starts at page 1, which can still be used on the current homestuck website using the link homestuck.com/story/[number] which will redirect you.

E.g. homestuck.com/story/1 will redirect you to homestuck.com/001901

In the context of the comic, the main events seen in the pilot have already happened, so by the time you actually reach the opening shot of the pilot as it is in the original, you've finished Act 1, been introduced to both Rose and John, and seen them start playing the "Sburb" game.

The chronology of the Homestuck comic is EXTREMELY non-linear, and while the pilot slams you with 10 pieces of information in about as many seconds, just one piece of that information can take like 50 pages to be explained. So at the point in the comic where Rose and John have started playing the game, and John has snuck around the house and fought with his dad (almost 100 pages in), had the title drop and everything. The characters Dave and Jade have NOT been introduced yet.

This isn't to say they haven't appeared, just that we are not shown their faces or told their names. At the point Act 1 ends we still only know them as their screen names or "Chumhandles" turntechGodhead and gardenGnostic. The same was true about Rose for the first half or so of Act 1. All to say, the pilot and the comic tell things in extremely different orders, and things that may be considered spoilers for the comic are just shown outright in the pilot.

For the purpose of making this easier to explain I will be [straight up?] with spoilers and say things assuming you have seen the pilot and are simply looking for further context for it withoutrevealing too much. If you wish to avoid spoilers I will mark them on screen for you to skip or mute.

We see a firefly go past, who YES is a fairly plot significant character from the comic. But not about her right now. She flies into a bunker where we meet our first character. Introduced on page firstly on page 248 and again properly on page 666, we are greeted with Wayward Vagabond, AKA WV. In the comic WV's purpose from his introduction is giving John instructions and prompts once he enters the game. Having WV interact with the story this early on is an interesting choice as originally, he was only able to give John commands once he entered the "world" of the game, whereas in the pilot WV seems to have been giving John prompts for a while. Its kind of unclear whether the narrator in the show is also supposed to be the voice of WV, or a separate entity, but as I remember the narrator in the comic is quite literally just Andrew Hussie.

We see WV typing into the command terminal where the computer zooms in to "John," our main character. There's not much to really say about our establishing shot of him, the first full body image of him does a pretty great job replicating the very first page of homestuck, and having the narration
