Actually Teaching AU: Part two

Glynda: *Is sitting cross legged opposite of Jaune* "What do you know about Aura Mr. Arc?"

Jaune: "Its the embodiment of our souls?"

Glynda: "What else?"

Jaune: *crease forms on his forehead* "It acts like a force field? Protecting us from harm?"

Glynda: "To some extent. Aura is the inner strength of ones soul projected outward into the physical world. It is a hunter's strongest weapon."

Jaune: "Huh..."

Glynda: "For one to master that weapon, the hunter must be used to calling upon it at all times. Close your eyes and focus on feeling your Aura. When you breath in, I want you to try and push it out. When you exhale, call it back in."

Jaune: *Shuffles where he is sitting* "Alright I'll try.

Both: *Sit in silence for a few moments*

Jaune: *Looks up curiously* "Miss Goodwitch? How do people usually unlock their Aura?"

Glynda: *sighs* "For some, Aura unlocks during intense emotional trauma. Most, however, have their aura unlocked by their family or loved ones."

Jaune: "Figures."

Glynda: "Mr. Arc?"

Jaune: *Sighs* "You know I forged my way into Beacon. But what you don't know is that I didn't have my Aura unlocked when I did it. I didn't even know what it was. *Laughs dejectedly* "That's why I screamed when you launched me off the cliff during initiation. I thought I was going to die."

Glynda: *Eyes wide open in shock* "How di- wha- How? Just How?"

Jaune: "My dad refused to train me. Every year on my birthday he said he would but he never did. Finally I got fed up and sent my forged transcripts to Beacon. When they came back he just looked at me and told me that if they sent me back to not worry." *Shakes his head* "I think he knew I sent them and just let me go to get rejected. Luckily for me during initiation Pyrrha saved me and then unlocked my Aura."

Glynda: *takes a calming breath* "Have you had your Aura measured recently?"

Jaune: "What?"

Glynda: "I'll take that for a no. Stay where you are. And continue to focus on your breathing and Aura."

Glynda: *Walks over to her scroll and types a few commands before pointing it towards Jaune*

Scroll: *beeps*

Glynda: *looks down at the information and drops the scroll in shock* "That's impossible."

Jaune: *Opens one eye* "Ma'am?"

Glynda: "50,000. Nearly double the highest recorded. And five times the average."

Jaune: *Nervously* "T-that's good right?"

Glynda: *Gets an evil glint in her eyes* "Yes Mr Arc. That's good. *thinks* 'I'm going to make you the best hunter in this damn school.'

Actually Teaching AU: Part 3

Jaune stood in the center of the training room with his knees bent into a low squat, shoulders holding the equivalent of two Rubys in the form of wights,  taking long deep breaths as he struggled to focus his aura.

Inhale

He was struck in the gut, sending bolts of pain through his skull but he fought through the pain and gritted his teeth.

“Focus your aura!”

Exhale

His brow bent together as he struggled to concentrate. He began to inhale again but was struck before he could finish causing him to cough out and fall to his back with the weights clattering to the floor.

Glynda walked into his field of vision and crossed her arms. “I’ll give you this Mr. Arc. You can sure take a beating. Unfortunately for you, only one of the seventy three hits I launched at you was stopped by your aura. As such after the five minute break, we’ll be starting again.”

Jaune closed his eyes and gasped out a yes ma’am before trying to get his breathing under control. “An-any chance you c-could teach me another way to- to get my Aura to get up?”

Glynda shook her head. “If we were in Signal or any other intermediate combat school we would be doing just that. Unfortunately for you, we are in Beacon. And we don’t have the time. So, like I said before, we are going to use what the Kingdom did when ever they trained their soldiers.”

“But I don’t get how beating me teaches me anything about aura control!” Jaune whimpered.

Glynda squatted down and looked him in the eyes. “When you get tired of getting beaten, you will use your aura.”

“But I don’t know how!” He yelled.

Glynda smirked and flicked him in the head causing him to rub it with a pained grimace. “Then you better get to figuring it out.” She stood and walked back to where she was standing before. “Times up! Get back into position!”

Jaune sighed before replaying, “Yes Ma’am.”

Actually Teaching AU

Glynda: "Mr Arc do you know why I asked you to stay after class?"

Jaune: *Sweating nervously* "I-I think I know Ma'am."

Glynda: "Cut the formality Mr Arc. We both know you don't belong here. However, due to the fact that you passed Initiation, you are a student. As a student you are to be given the best education we can offer. All you have to do is ask."

Jaune: *Thinks silently to himself for a few moments before pulling out his sword and kneeling with it*

Glynda: *Rolls her eyes* "Honestly you boys are all the same. You don't need to do that Mr. Arc."

Jaune: *Shakes his head* "N-No I-I do. Before I ask for your help, you need to know." *Takes a deep shaking breath* "I-I forged my way into the school. Please, I know What I did was stupid and ignorant and-"

Glynda: "Highly illegal."

Jaune: *Flinched a little* "Y-Yeah... that too. But please. I can't be weak any more. Not again. I can't be the bumbling fool stuck in the tree watching as his friends fight for their lives!"

Glynda: "You are not talking about Initiation are you Mr. Arc?" *Kneels next to him and gently grasps his shaking shoulder.* "You don't have to tell me what happened Jaune. You'd be surprised how many of your classmates have the same motivation as you." *Closes her eyes* "That said you did admit to a crime."

Jaune: *clinches his fists so tight they turn white*

Glynda: "Detention. For as long as I see fit."

Jaune: *Looks up wide eyed*

Glynda: *Stands up* "As much as I hate having rule breakers in my school, you actually reviled a sicking hole in our security. If you can get in, who else?"

Jaune: "W-what do you mean Miss Goodwitch?"

Glynda: "Nothing you need to worry about yet Mr. Arc. You have more important things to worry about."

Jaune: "L-Like what?"

Glynda: "DODGE!"

Jaune: "What!?" *gets kicked in the face by Glynda*

Glynda: "That Mr. Arc. Your Detention starts now." *Walks over to him to see a boot imprint on his face and gives him his drooped sword* "I suggest you take some notes."
