there's a reason for this, and the animosity is a fallout from that. i wasnt in the fandom when e19 happened, but e19 is the crucial point when people started showing animosity for locus.
a friend whom i trust told me about this.and from observations, i would say this friend is right.
Yeah, it definitely looks like this is a long held animosity and I get where the anger is coming from, but people are seriously jumping the gun on this current arc.
Yeah, Locus did some pretty terrible things but as of right now the arc is just barely even beginning. He’s had no time to display proper motivation beyond a vague answer that was probably just meant to get Grif off of his back, and we don’t know what’s actually going on in his life. Grif even points this out in-character.
I know that the animosity is always going to be there, I just wish that people would take a breath, be patient, and see where it goes instead of just immediately screeching about the thing when we know next to nothing about what’s going on. This could be a thing that goes on for two episodes or it could be a thing that goes on for two seasons. Raising hell on episode one of the thing doesn’t do all that much good in the long run.
I’m just annoyed.

gotten over the 'bad trans' bit, more like 'yall get better taste' 'i think you can buy taste for 2 for $2.99 at walmart'
Big Mood. like i wouldn’t give a crap if it was a case of like, other trans men creating content that i’m not into, because what might not be appealing to me might be cool to another guy & vice versa, but lbr that’s not what’s going on w/ fic & art about trans men. i’m not saying it’s cis ppl’s fault, but uhhh,,

omg fandom trans content trigger my dysphoria SO BAD every time
honestly same, most of it is so off-putting and unrelatable to me that i’ve pretty much given up on trans content completely, bc at this point i’d rather miss out on a potentially good fic than risk reading another word of some chaser’s shitty fever dream? and that is, imho, really fucking sad.

#they have to justify that dude's existence & the reasons they come up w/ aren't.... super great most of the time
THIS and a lot of times it boils down to "we just want to hc biological kids between two men and apparently mpreg is frowned upon so we make one of them trans"
kjdgkjdghkjg yeah, i was kinda vagueing about mpreg discourse w/ that tag. like i don’t care about mpreg (or about any content that heavily revolves around parenting or having kids tbh), but i really hate the argument that if you want mpreg you Gotta have the pregnant dude be trans or else you’re stealing representation from trans men/erasing our existence w/ a burning passion bc pregnancy can be a huge source of dysphoria for a lot of guys (it sure fuckin is for me). like seeing bunch of clueless cis ppl go ‘trans man getting knocked up by his cis partner, what could be more progressive and wholesome uwu’ over a concept that lbr a lot of chasers are into & a lot of trans men really dislike is like.... f uck.... off... be quiet.....
that said sometimes i feel like writing self-indulgent trans content (tm) but then i don't want cis ppl to read it and then use it as a base to create more of that chaser stuff if that makes sense
ohhh yeah, i get that & it’s a shame that guys feel discouraged from making content bc they’re afraid chasers are going read or look at it, bc like i said trans men making content that they personally enjoy really aren’t the problem here. like i can appreciate the fact that different ppl have different tastes & that not everyone is going to be into the same things i am & vice versa. i can work with that. what i can’t work with are cis ppl who keep shitting out transphobic content
