I woke up to a very defensive rant from one of the others in my system. Like she had a lot on her mind and as soon as we were awake she needed me to hear about it. Maybe calling it a "rant" isn't the best word for it? She just had a lot to get off her chest.
The gist of it was that she's tired of us acting like it's a bad thing that she tends to be judgmental of people, because it's really only been a handful of past friends who have criticized us/her for being too judgmental and critical. She pointed out that our therapist and our partner have both told her that her judgments of other people tend to be sound and very reality based and it's not like she's just making snap judgements about people based on prejudices. She doesn't always get it right, but she's doing her best.
She reminded me that her intent has always just been to keep us safe and protect us from people who would hurt us, and it hurts her when we disregard her advice or mock her for being too critical.
I apologized and thanked her for everything she does.
