This week's P.O.W. is Bladder 10! I find this point extremely fitting with the Spring equinox and the super worm moon we all have the pleasure of experiencing this week. Both of these bring powerful forward moving energy to help us let go of what is holding us back and make room for us to blossom in all of our wholeness. Bladder 10 can help us, and our furry babies achieve that growth. By stimulating this #acupoint, we allow the mind to clear, the sensory orifices to open, and in return our pets can focus better. -- Bladder 10 (BL10) is often called Top to Bottom, Heaven's Pillar, and Tian Zhu. The name Top to Bottom, refers to its ability to relieve tension from the head down to the hind paw along the path of the spine. More locally, BL10 helps relieve stiffness or pain in the head and neck region. This includes benefits to the eyes and nasal congestion. Epilepsy can be associated with the eyes, so dogs and cats that suffer from this disorder may find some relief with this point. It can also help with back pain, spinal disc issues, and stiffness in the spine. Energetically, Heaven's Pillar can be used to reduce fever, and therefore clear excess Heat in the body, as well as internal Wind and Cold, allowing the body to regulate it's temperature. -- Finding Bladder 10 can be easy, as many animals enjoy scratches or rubs in this region. It is found on either side of the mid-line of the spine, in the muscles between the spine and the ears. If you trace your fingers from the top of the head, down to about the level of the back of the ears, you can feel a slight depression in the muscles found there. As with most points, if you are unsure about the exact point location, stimulating the general area will often be effective. I hope your pets enjoy this one!
