Here’s a short tutorial to look at what Facebook is willing to tell you what they know about you (and block certain types of Advertisement Subjects which you don’t want to see) :

Try this: (or if you have not ever gone on Facebook-- STOP AND DO NOT MAKE AN ACCOUNT) 1. Log on to your Facebook Account 2. Click the little triangle on the very far right of the top “blue bar” 3. Click Settings 4. You’ll be on a new page, go over to the far left of that page and look through the list of options and click “ads” 5. Look through “Your Interests“, “Your Information”, “Ad Settings”, and arguably most useful in terms of action “Hide Ad Topics”.  But yeah just look through all that stuff.  See how creepy it is, and then consider taking a break from Facebook or just getting off of it entirely (that last part is just my 2 cents)-- but if you need to go on Facebook you can do things like.... for example-- if you are struggling with something, you can supposedly block advertisements that relate to that topic.
