dating was the bane of adalyn’s existence, a constant thorn in her side. in theory she should’ve liked going on dates as it could’ve been compared to interviewing for a job, which was something that she excelled at. there was just something about sitting around with a stranger and trying to find things to like about each other that always felt so awkward and trivial to her, and it usually wasn’t long before she found a reason to toss the person aside.
but she was trying to change all that; she was going to change all that. allowing herself to be set up on a blind date was a big step for adalyn, and she hoped that she wouldn’t regret it. currently she had set up shop on a bench where they were supposed to meet, and was meticulously noting the details of the next day in her planner. in adalyn’s world there never seemed to be a second to spare, so she couldn’t think of a reason to not be productive while she sat there. she tapped her foot as the time passed, her heel clicking against the sidewalk. please don’t let this be a mistake, she thought.
