The Atom Legends: The Atom (Adam Cray)
Adam Cray first appeared in 1990 as a fake Atom hired by Ray Palmer to pretend to be the Atom for a short time while he investigated the Micro Squad, a group of criminals trapped in miniature form who had been tasked with using Ray to uncover the identities of the various Justice Leaguers. He ended up being killed by the Micro Squad.
In an adaptation, Adam Cray would have a natural place in a movie centered in the Micro Squad or at least a similar story, but other than that, he probably doesn't need to be used all that much. As for casting, I could see someone like Joel Kinnaman playing the role.
Atom III / Adam Cray (Earth 54)
Age: 23 (in 1974)
Favorite Movie: Point Blank (1967)
Bio: The son of prominent McCarthyist Senator Joseph Cray, Adam was a bright and charming student of Doctor Ray Palmer. He reminded Ray of his younger self enough for the retired superhero to pass on his bio-belt and name to the boy. Up through his graduation, Adam was mentored by the former Atom, until a falling out left the men heading separate directions. Shortly thereafter, the new Atom was recruited by the government to take part in Taskforce X as a handler, a position that would lead to his death at a depressingly young age.
Teaser for the next Earth 54 history fic update
Today we talk about several people who have gone by Atom. One of them is short but doesn't get small, one of them was on the Suicide Squad, one of them can split into a bunch of little guys, and one of them was secretly a triple agent.
