Sci-Fi horror is not easy to pull off. Whether its the lack of budget, production design, costume, or visual effects, trying to give a short film scale and a distinct look for this sub-genre is tough. Luckily for Adam Fair, his experience as a VFX/CG artist really shows on screen as his impressive film LAIKA plays like a movie you’d catch on a streamer. The visuals are top notch, and immediately pull you into the action and the high stakes facing a cosmonaut that’s trying to make it back to Earth in one piece. Don’t be surprised if this calling card from Fair gets expanded into a larger project.
