guys... guys... since phm and iron lung are enjoying popularity among the masses, i believe it is my duty to inform you about sunshine 2007 (dir. danny boyle). if you love a good patron saint of one way trips, then this movie is for you. it is truly one of, if not the best space movie i've ever watched. an underrated, beautiful, haunting, hopeful film that deserves so much love.

many things to love about spaceship horror. one layer of metal between you and the fathomless dark of space. accidents and mistakes you couldn’t have prepared for if you’d had a century to try. monsters from a biological reality beyond your comprehension. betrayal not as conflict but as a mechanism to doom every life on board. primal fear driving decisions made inside a machine resulting from a thousand years of mankind’s dreaming. creaky spaceship noises
