Experience Shopping in Cologne Part 2
The last article introduced us beautiful and lively part of the Cologne, called Belgisches Viertel. Our next tour leads to Ehrenfeld. Because of the pretty mixed population this district can be called the international neighborhood of Cologne. It is a quarter where you can meet people from different parts of the world. That’s why the atmosphere of this place is so special. If you visit Ehrenfeld, you will see many Turkish and Italian grocery shops as well as stores from the Middle East and Far East. The quarter is a nice spot, full of bars, cafeterias and restaurants owned by people from around the world. If you wish to eat out at a real Italian or exotic restaurant you will be more likely recommended to go to Ehrenfeld.
Because of the diversity of the quarter, it was not hard for SugarTrends to explore cool stores, which all are special enough to became our partner shops.
Firstly, we can mention No Gallery. It is a company owned by two designers Elisabeth Rosenkranz and Andreas Burgmann. No Gallery designs letters in various styles and fonts made of wood. People use these words to tell their feelings or as a gift that makes others happy. It is a perfect store to find a great present for any kind of occasion and furthermore, all letters can be customized.
Our next store in Ehrenfeld is Adam Pillows. It is a unique store with high quality products. Yvonne Adam, the owner, manufactures tailor-made floor cushions. Using these cushions is a heavenly way to relax at home. All of the products are made of high quality materials and are environmental friendly and healthy at the same time.
During your walk in hippy Ehrenfeld, you just can’t forget to stop by at Les Boites. This store is owned by Anja Klinkenberg who is also the shopowner of „4te Etage” and co-owner of „Die dritte Haut” (you can explore all of them on SugarTrends).
Les Boites sells products that help you with restoration of your old furniture. Why would you get rid of your grandparents’ old chair or desk if you can conjure a beautiful piece from them? Definitely, it would make your home special and on top, you would have a traditional, personal piece in your house, which saves you money as well.
The 4te Etage is a shop where you find home design products and accessories from the 50s and 60s. Moreover you can also find there designed personally by Anja Klinkenberg.
Die Dritte Haut is Anja’s third project focuses on ecological and sustainable surfaces, floors and sleeping furniture. She contributes to this store mainly as a designer of comfortable beds which are made-to-measure out of good wood.
Last but not least, let us tell you about store from Ehrenfeld that has a fresh idea about jewelry. It´s called ICH, DU & ES. The owner's intention was to create pieces with charm, individuality and fun. Well, we think they succeeded because all of their items have a special beauty that can complete your outfit perfectly.
We hope you enjoyed this virtual trip in Ehrenfeld and let us surprise you with new must-visit stores in the next blogpost!
