Prepping for this weekend's photoshoot 💞
Looking forward to 2019🎉
Happy Holidays❣
I finished my first wig 😺
Lace wig cap i-cord crochet ombré box braids mini tutorial:
The i-cord box braids were crocheted using a 1.8mm crochet hook and Aunt Lydia’s embroidery thread size 10: 114 total braids, 73 pink, 41 purple. I chained 2 and pulled a loop through the first chain and worked each braid using two loops. The wig band is 3mm thick flat elastic.
I positioned the folds so the front would be smooth and the cap would fold over the ears.
I sewed the folds in place.(I sewed a bit too much & should’ve used white thread)
I marked the hair line and part.
I used the 1.8mm crochet hook to pull the ends of the braids into the wig cap and tied them to each other two by two, then cut off the excess. I started putting in the braids on the part, then filled in the hair line.
It is important to make sure you try on the wig as you go.
I made the elastic band smaller than the wig, but not too much that it would be too tense & snap. I folded the excess wig cap into the wig and sewed it back into the elastic band.
I cut off the extra thread on the braids then styled the hair.
I made my wig cap too tight and too short which caused problems, but I’m happy with the final result.
It started out as a sweater and ended up a dress 😻
Gotta figure a photoshoot for this outfit 🤔
