My Zeri not only has a new wig, but I've also finally named her! Say hello to Marika Lusk. I started playing Love and Deepspace recently and decided to make her (as best as I could in the CC) in the game, and that forced me to finally figure out a name for her. xD Snagged her first name from Elden Ring, though I've never played it (and probably never will).

Anyway, I wanted to give her some wicks/dreadlocs for hair and this is my first attempt! I'm not 100% sure about it, but I got plenty of roving left over, so I can always try again in the future.

I made the wig with wool roving I purchased from Sarafina Fiber Art. It's very soft and the color is beautiful! Definitely recommend them. :) They got lots of colors to pick out from!

To felt the roving, I just used hot water + a Dove bar of soap I had on hand (a lot of the guides online suggest olive soap, but seems most any hand wash soap should be good). Then it's just a matter of rolling the fiber over a towel after spraying. I used a felting needle to blunt the ends so they wouldn't look so grinch finger-y (and gave the ends another spritz and roll to blend).

I made more than pictured, but you really don't need a ton for a head this size (Zeri wears a 5-6in wig).

I then simply hot glued the locs on after applying a quick flocking to the cap to help disguise it. I just cut up a chunk of the roving into little pieces to making the flocking I needed. I had to hot glue btw because the locs needed to be held in place as they dried so they'd lay how I wanted on the head (and regular glue would just soak into the wool like a sponge). Each piece is strategically glued down to the layer beneath it to get the style I wanted so the end result is like a squishy helmet. xD

Alright gang i need help 😭

I am looking for what is generally called carrot red wig colour but I can't find a single one in the style I am looking for

Some of the red browns are probably close but I want that orange 🥲 i am also willing to settle for less natural shades of orange

I checked luts, legenddoll, Alice collection, Stacie's pink ocean, ali express. I don't know where people get wigs these days so any suggestions would be very welcome

I want something whith swoopy bangs middle or side part and preferably long in the back, straight/wavey/curly whatever is fine, something simular to any of these wigs, some styling on my part is fine too ( at this point I am willing to settle for a short wig as well)

I am willing to pay up to 60 USD or even a little more if it's exactly what I want 🥲

Behold, me nearly dropping my friend's doll in an attempt to get a half decent vid of the wig 😅

Almost done!! Leaving it to air dry overnight and then I'll do the last cutting+styling fine-tuning tomorrow, I'm so excited about it!

Hello again. 👋

We parted ways yesterday with the promise of part two, and I love to deliver.

I had begun making wefts yesterday evening, and that continued into this morning.

I used full strands to start, and as the glue hardened I cut the weft in half and did it all over again. There was no need to keep them long since we are going to end up cutting them short anyways. With short/shaven wigs I like to put the rows a little closer together for coverage sake.

This is not as bad as it looks, I swear. 😏

NGL It’s actually going to look horrendous as we lay the wefts down.

My lovely glue jar in the back. This hair layout reminds me of something but I can’t put a name to it.

Anyways… time to grab the clippers. I used a 1/4” attachment and went slowly, watching for any bare spots. There were only a couple of small ones and I had plenty of reserve hair to fill them in.

Ta-da! That hair got everywhere despite best efforts to keep it contained. I did a little fine tuning with my dermaplane razor which is super handy for razoring wigs. I do like my full size hair razor but the tines are a little too wide for a doll wig.

Here she is, killin’ it with her new wig. I am so in love! Now both of her wigs match.

Hey guys! We have to put more time and energy to our Happy Flexi pets project (it's about creating STL files of pets for 3d home printing), it's easier to work with in our current situation but we haven't given up with our main project - Walloya Morring - making ball-jointed dolls. Although making BJD pets we put on pause for a while but we're still working on BJD Granny Mice.

And in this post we'd like to show you some pics of Nora. It's a 30 cm doll, casted in polyurethane, Basic skin ton Makeup by Renaissance Dolls Wig by Zorina Doll Clothes by Julia Mokhova dress We've encountered with some challenges in Serbia about making dolls in a way we do it. Of course we're looking for ways to solve it and until that we have to work with some restrictions but we're working!
