I'm a little late, but happy two years to A Dark Among the Lights by @luckylectio! How has it been two years like what.

In the interest of tumblr not being weird about the image formatting (and to show off some of the colors that got lost in the lighting), please enjoy the lit and unlit versions ^-^

#it's been a while since i've drawn a mural so this was super fun #i was inspired by the design of the LU portals themselves since they look like windows #and used the various toon link stained glass artwork to figure out the style #between managing the shapes‚ balancing colors and contrast‚ and deciding the layout as a whole #it was like a puzzle...only i was the one making the pieces XD #my art #dark link #adatl #the others are tiny so idk about tagging them #the world was conspiring to keep me from finishing this i swear #super sick + busy is a terrible combination even without factoring in the part where i forgot how long stained glass designs can take #whoops. but hey at least it looks nice #hello new phone background :3 #i have lots of emotions about this fic. but i'd essentially be repeating everything i said last year #the fic's good. i reread it while figuring out what to draw for this and i fell in love with it all over again #excellent plot and characterization paired with a writing style that is both lighthearted and doesn't pull punches #i just adore it entirely. but y'all already know that :b #so yeah. thanks again for this wonderful fic‚ lectio. hope the coming year treats you well <333

#i genuinely cannot think of anything else to say regarding this fic that isn't already conveyed by the sheer amount of effort this gif took #it's good. go read it <3 #my art #a part of me still can't believe that it's finally over #is it perfect? no #did i get a little fancy with the lighting just because i felt like it? maybe #but the important thing is that it's finished #overall i think i had fun. definitely don't recommend animating anything than the bare minimum in procreate though #use an actual animation software. and no--procreate dreams doesn't count #the worst part about making this was trying to get my software to work with me #but enough complaining. i'm just gonna sit here and bask in the glory of this completed project for a while #this thing is staying pinned for a long time #dark link #adatl
