tbh. like , concept : it’s subjective , debbie , both to your thinking & experiences , and the artist’s. like , honestly , i’m always in the steve rogers drifting towards abstract expressionism / impressionism box , because steve rogers is one ( 1 ) giant , messy emotion , or even as far as lyrical abstraction ———— but , they’re post - war movements , so that’s a bummer. fauvism by way of Pinchon , maybe. my main point here is that , i think he’d navigate towards some variation of impressionism / expressionism / abstraction , because he’s very raw , & i really genuinely don’t think that , of his own volition , he’s got the sort of mentality that allows him to do any sort of realism ?? & like , i don’t mean to knock realism & it’s subsets , it’s just that shit takes..........a lot of time , but also a lot of concrete observance & literal translation. of course ———— i'm also in love with steve rogers , dadaist , embracing the irrational , intuitive & nihilistic , anti - modernist , anti - bourgeois post - WW1 , because frankly steve rogers vs art as a historically identifiable sociological category is #Iconic
