Spacewalk dreams. Set your alarms, folks! Tomorrow morning at 7:50am EDT, @nasa astronauts Christina Koch and Jessica Meir will perform the first-ever #AllWomanSpacewalk, marking a historic milestone for space exploration. Since 1984, a total of 14 women have ventured into the vacuum of space on 40 different spacewalks. Peggy Whitson performed 10! This will be the fourth for Koch and the first for Meir. The duo will venture to the far side of the @iss to begin their primary task to replace the failed power regulator with a spare battery charge-discharge unit (BCDU). The BCDU had been in operation since December 2000 and is due to return to Earth on the next @spacex Dragon resupply ship for inspection. The device regulates the charge to batteries that collect and distribute power to the station. Check out our @instagram Story tomorrow morning, we will direct you to live footage. ‘Til then, starry dreams to all.
