Do you think that if Rayla did get pregnant again Callum would be scared out of his mind because the first time she was pregnant she nearly lost the baby?

If we're talking specifically abt the Delicate series, then Callum I think is less freaked out by the idea of another kid. He'd hover a little but he'd personally made sure everything went ok last time so if there was a second one, I don't think he'd be too worried.

The reason they don't have a second one by ADB is bc Rayla's the one who's not emotionally ready for it. Pregnancy sucks on its own, man, but she almost lost the baby twice and I mean, can you even blame her for being afraid hesitant to go through that again? Plus, I haven't finished it so spoiler alert: she gets probably a little too overprotective of Sarai and it's supposed to be a point of tension as that fic goes on. She'll get there eventually, I think - they had Sarai pretty early on and having another bub past 30 is definitely not unheard of, esp considering Rayla's an elf.

Question What would Sarai be like if after ADC if she were her father's age...?

I haven't thought that far ahead?? I like to think that she'd be as stubborn as her mum and as precocious as her dad which is kind of a horrible combination bc I reckon at age 11, she'd be cheeky and clever and mischievous enough to hear the word "No," and go "So... Yes as long as you don't catch me."

For example, Uncle Ez holds a festival for the Common Folk every year to celebrate the anniversary of the end of the war but Mum is always like "No, you've got to be at the ball tonight," which she'd take seriously, probably, if Mum didn't also look like she'd rather be at the festival so obvi she argues -

"But Muuuum, balls are so boring and stuffy and I wanna hang out with Lessa and Terryn at the festivaaaal," but, of course, Mum says no, because Uncle Ez still doesn't have kids and Dad is still his heir apparent, which makes her technically second in line for the throne so she can't be out there all by herself (even though, thanks to Mum, she's perfectly capable of looking after herself tyvm).

Anyway, part way into this ball, little Sarai is bored out of her mind and damn, that festival looks so much more fun and you know what? Screw this. She knows enough Moon magic to get away from all this so what the heck, why not?? She conjures an illusion of herself to distract the other ball guests while she sneaks away to party and Mum and Dad'll probably notice immediately that it's an illusion but it'll buy her enough time to wander off and that's all she needs.

By age 14, she's over all the pomp and circumstance and routinely sneaks away to have adventures with Lessa and Terryn (much to her parents' chagrin), and by age 16, when Uncle Ez finally, finally has an heir of his own, she's old enough to decide for herself that palace life is too restrictive for her and wants to travel and see the world and more actively help it be a nicer place just like Mum and Dad.

For all the trouble she causes them, she adores them both and practically worships the ground they walk on and, more than anything, she wants to grow up and be just like them.

I really liked the parts from ADC chapter 5 It spoke volumes about raylas and callums character overall and Claudia's short speech was really sweet, and I guess gave rayla the resulve she needed for her to choose keeping the baby and that part with callum trying to talk to the baby... I'm soft ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Ahh thank you ❤️❤️ I think in my head she was scared, which y'know, FAIR - having a baby can be heckin scary but it was really important to me that her friends and family made her feel safe and secure abt whatever decision she made around it. That said, she never even considered *not* having it but being given that choice is still really important.

You guys are so sweet ❤️❤️ Im ngl tho, I personally actually hate that chapter bc of how wrecked I was when I wrote it. To me, it's a fucking mess and I don't know that the emotions I wanted to convey actually made it through the text. That, and I've been on nights all weekend and I'm legitimately exhausted both bc I haven't slept properly in days bc I've had to deal with crap that should have been done on day shift every time I've had to come in

I'm glad you guys liked it tho!! Maybe once I've slept for a full 8 hours in the actual night time, I'll hate it less 😂

Congrats on finishing ADC, it and ADP are beautiful fics that have brought me great joy :). Thank you for sharing them with the world. Take all the time to rest or focus on your original content that you need, but if you did decide to do another fic focused on Ez and Aanya...I'd certainly be very interested :). In the meantime, in your "Delicate"-verse, do you envision Ez/Aanya as a romantic couple (as in, "Autine Aanya" being AUNTIE Aanya :D?). For my own head-canon purposes, of course.

As for Ez and Aanya, that's veeeeery complicated and I feel like a slow burn there would be worse in every way because they're not idiots like Callum and Rayla. As ruling monarchs of two different countries, there are legitimate reasons they can't be together but their friendship has SO MUCH POTENTIAL and I have some very. Interesting ideas on how that'd all go down.

I said when I finished ADA that I had no plans for a sequel and that turned out to be lie, so I'm not saying that again. There might be a third installment here - I'm just a little afraid to write it haha!
