Pirate for the Ren Faire today. (its actually Pirate Kenna Lavellan but the important thing is the Ren Faire opened this weekend and I'm glad I was able to go!)

Okay the eternal struggle is where to begin when I have time to work on cosplay Like. I don't know what sort of commitment I'm willing to put in tonight. An hour? Four? Half an hour? I need to work tomorrow so I need some sleep.

The most difficult part of cosplay is choosing fabrics, I swear

And like, I’m not bad at it, but I’ll look at a costume with a lot of layers or one that has an article of clothing like a coat that should probably be a heavyweight fabric and I think to myself

Vicky, your choices are to use light/mediumweight fabrics that’ll give it the right look so you don’t die of heat stroke at a summer convention

or to go with that heavier fabric that it theoretically would really be made of because THAT WOULD BE FUCKIN SWEET and then pray you can go to a winter convention instead
