Ok. This is gonna be a rambly, high sci-fi post.

I'm watching Star Trek: The Next Generation S4E4.

The adoption one. If it's not known as that already it should be.

Jono/Jeremiah is struggling with his relationships. His adoptive father clearly cares a lot for him, and Jono cares in return. But also his genetic family wants to meet him.

So have both! Jesus christ it's so simple. This is Jono, he's your grandson.

Hi grandma. Would you like to hear about the sports tournament I won?

...[conversation ensues]

What a wonderful visit. I'm going home with Jono to Talarian space now because that's where he lives.

And that's totally not a metaphor for how open adoption helps everyone.

Why do we make this so hard?

If I could just get my ADD ass to stop scrolling through Tumblr I'd be able to get this tooth rotting fluffy Valentine's Day special chapter ready to be queued for the 14th.

In my ADD opinion here are the ways you can understand what it is like to have ADD. (Everyone's a little different so might not apply to all people with ADD)

1. That foggy feeling after Thanksgiving dinner but with full movement most of the time.

2. Constantly feeling like you just spent two all nighters and now have to function normally.

3. Covid/sick brain fog but all the time.

4. That one time you zoned out completely but add 10 times a day.

Please feel free to add your examples if you have ADD and have different ways to explain or let me know if you agree with my examples.

Also would be curious the difference in feel for those with ADHD (yes there is a medical difference. They are not the same thing)

Hey so I got a question for all the other people who have ADHD or ADD. Do you ever have those weird episodes where your brain is just kinda freaking out cause it doesn't know what to do? Kinda like when you put something on a Cats head and they're freaking out cause they don't know what's going on? Or like getting the zoomies but you're human with responsibilities. That ever happened to y'all, or is it just me?

Something people often forget about ADHD is how much it impacts your writing. I just wrote three pages of useless information about topics that don't have anything to do with the story while my character was walking to school
