@overtired-thoughts
Here is to a wonderful woman, animal rights advocate, conservationist, and researcher.
There are more titles I could give her and not enough space in a post to say just how amazing she was.
May we continue to learn from her kindness and her research.
May she rest in peace. ❤️
I recommend everyone once in a while listen to the song "Humble and Kind" by Tim McGraw. Not only is it a beautiful song but it is also a good reminder to be the best person you can be to yourself and others.
I think everyone, no matter what age, should go back and watch Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and learn or relearn what he taught us.
Angry Spirit: "Be afraid! Be very afraid!"
Human: ".... BAHAHAHAHA!"

Angry Spirit: "What's so funny?"
Human: "You think that's scary?"

Human: "Have you seen the state of the world?"
Formerly Angry Spirit: "...Ok you've got a point."
Human: "I mean by comparison"
Spirit: "Yeah I can't beat that....are you all ok?"
Human: "No"

stopping by to say -
Support your libraries guys! They got books! Internet! Information! They're the last bastion of community, and librarians are heroes.
Learn first aid - it can save lives. When you're clued up on it, teach it to others.
If you're able to, try and buy a couple of extra canned items/water when you do your weekly food shop. Don't forget first aid items and toiletries. It doesn't have to be tonnes, but it doesn't hurt to have a couple of extras.
Try and find some happiness in each day. Finding some form of positivity or laughing is a form of rebellion. Do not let the fuckers get you down.
Exercise. Literally no cons to this (sorry). YouTube has lots of great videos that require no equipment.
Learn to fix things! Fixing your own stuff instead of buying new is another form of rebellion and saves you some money.
Look after each other. Check in on people.
Controversial one, maybe: it's good to have discussions with people that have different views. CIVILISED discussions. SAFE discussions. Of course, choose who you speak to carefully, and disregard this entirely if you want to, but I'm gonna throw it out there.
Teach each other skills. Do you know how to can food? Awesome, teach your friend, and ask him to teach you how to grow veggies in return.
Don't give up, don't give up, don't give up. Remember that you've survived every single bad day of your life. You're tough, you can do it.
Please share this!!
Want to know a quick trick for a stuffed up ear?
Put a bit of flour into a Ziploc bag.
Close it up most of the way leaving a little bit open for air.
Place it in the microwave and heat in increments of 10 seconds until it is hot but not too hot to handle.
Close the bag.
Take a kitchen towel or paper towel and wrap up the plastic bag. Make sure you can still feel the heat through the towel.
Find a place to lay on your side using the hot flower bag as a pillow.
The heat will melt any wax and drain over time. You may have to reheat a few times.
Hope this helps!

In my ADD opinion here are the ways you can understand what it is like to have ADD. (Everyone's a little different so might not apply to all people with ADD)
1. That foggy feeling after Thanksgiving dinner but with full movement most of the time.
2. Constantly feeling like you just spent two all nighters and now have to function normally.
3. Covid/sick brain fog but all the time.
4. That one time you zoned out completely but add 10 times a day.
Please feel free to add your examples if you have ADD and have different ways to explain or let me know if you agree with my examples.
Also would be curious the difference in feel for those with ADHD (yes there is a medical difference. They are not the same thing)
Does anyone post how they used to back in the probably... Idk early 2000s?
I'm talking funny "Tumblr Made Me Do It", "Men of Tumblr", "transformation threads", and " story threads" (examples below. Sorry for the quality)
are you telling me americans have stores that open up SPECIFICALLY for halloween and just. dont exist any other time of the year. you people are insane
Imagine an empty storefront. Some business that closed years ago. The building stands empty, unused for literal months. And then boom. Fall comes around and there’s a Spirit Halloween. There’s no escape.
what the fuck 😁
Yeah this is a thing
Are you serious
Yes and they are divine gifts of beauty and cheap plastic lawn decorations.
… I honestly assumed that the existence of Halloween stores was just a running joke in American TV shows.
No they’re very real
Can confirm this phenomenon also occurs in Canada
It’s fun
Oh, it’s a blast.
Wait, so during non-halloween they are just empty? Like, they don’t switch between seasonal decorations (like christmas, easter, etc), they just…close and wait for next year???
Yeah, it’s not a permanent store. A company will rent an empty building for the 2-3 months before halloween, sell halloween stuff, and then clean everything up and disappear until the following year. And they’ll usually set up in different buildings from year to year. They just find any good-sized empty store space that will give them a cheap, short-term lease.
It’s so temporary that the halloween stores don’t even have a real sign, they just hang up a banner outside:
So you’re telling me that every year for a month or two the Spirit of Halloween possesses a dead building then disappears?
that is exactly what we’re telling you
