Threaten Kids With Exercise
During rehearsal: *us Newsies wouldn't shut up*
Mr. Sam: Alright for every noise I hear, that's how many minutes we plank.
During class: *Mr. Eric hands out fundraiser packets*
Mr. Eric: If anyone opens it before I tell you to, you all plank. Uh huh. That's right. Give each other death glares.
During rehearsal: *doing ab workouts*
Mr. Sam: Everytime someone stops, we add more. Power through it.
During rehearsal: *doing knee-highs*
Mrs. Parella: Get those knees up! Come on! Come on! Up! Higher! You can do better than that! If you aren't doing it right, we start over!
Use our laziness against us. You can ask any sports/band person and sometimes theatre people. It works.
Obviously, however, if you have a student/kid who has a medical problem that limits them, let them know that if they need to take short breaks to catch their breath or steady themself, that that's completely fine! Push them but do not break them! If you see they're trying their best, don't be cruel.
