On Sherlock's Tumblr, there's a "story so far" summary page (which is mid-update--typing up new info now), which could come in useful. There's also a full fic, but it's well over 200k words, so it'll take time to get through, but it really is a gripping read.
(personal recommendation--read the summary to catch up and then go back for the details in the fic. And get tissues.)
