I think Jack would be the person Kayla would go to when she needs a voice of reason, and I love how she’s shown to be as protective of him as Zill. Also, they’re both just such sweet people and I know they’d get along really well.
Kayla & Damian
ONLY post-redemption would this work, but it could be awesome. They both seem to me like the kind of person who tries to be the center of attention (for good or for evil) so they could connect through that.

Both loud and expressive, but also deeper than they look on the surface. A very birds of a feather kinda thing
Damian & Zill
It’s giving “reluctant found family” vibes because they’re both half-demons and also have to at least tolerate each other for Jack’s sake. They very frenemies yes
Jack & Vanexa
Started out in the “my bff’s s/o is stealing all my time with them” club and evolves into gaining respect for each other. I like to think they hang out by just being around each other doing stuff quietly, like cats often do. Which is why Vanexa thinks Jack is “the most tolerable” because none of their other friends could do that without trying to talk to her.

This is more because I think Spam would be good for her than anything honestly. She needs his silliness in her life
Addison & Zill
Viv did a lot of drawings of the two of them together and tbh I kinda like the idea of them as friends now. They gotta be AT LEAST like friendly acquaintances or smth, if only because they’re both creatures that as far as anyone knows shouldn’t exist.
Addison & Jack
Aka the two most traumatized ones. I think they could really understand each other.

I’ve been lost in thought about Damian’s (many) love interests, so I’m just going to rank them! For fun! (This doesn’t include polyamorous ships, bc they would just make this way too complicated with all the combinations of characters.)
Be ready for a long post…
#1: Damian x Addison
I know it will never be. For one, Addison and Gustav seems to pretty clearly be Addi’s endgame pairing. Which… *deep breath* ok, so, to be clear, I don’t think there’s anything morally wrong with that. They’re both adults, they know what they’re getting into, and Gustav doesn’t even work for the school most of the time, he was just helping out that one day. However, legally, it was a bad idea. Gustav could (and arguably, should) be fired from working at ZPA for starting a relationship with a student. I’ve done work as a volunteer tutor, and I’m not allowed to even talk to students outside sessions. They’re strict about this, and if these rules don’t get enforced, less innocent scenarios can slip through the cracks.
That said, I really like Damian and Addison’s relationship! They clearly have a strong affection for each other and mutual respect (which Damian clearly lacks with certain other people who I’ll get to later) and both of them have taken some amount of risk to have each other’s back. They’re really comfortable with each other, but can also manage boundaries (a skill that, again, Damian seems to reserve for Addison alone).
If this ship had become canon, I would only have had one reservation, and that has to do with the fact that their relationship isn’t quite romantic. It’s queer platonic. Which can sometimes be similar, but it’s a lot more complicated than that.
As I understand it, queer platonic is like… friendship and then some. It can sometimes be a mix of platonic and romantic. That’s my hesitation here, because a romance between these characters could undermine the actual complex nature of the relationship they have. I’d love to find a friendship like the one they have one day. Complicated, yes, but dedicated and real.
I mean, not real, because these are fictional characters, but you get what I mean. Irl relationships aren’t just magically perfect, they take work. Like Damian and Addi’s relationship does.
#2: Damian x Sahara
Ok, so, admittedly I like this one for aesthetic reasons rather than narrative ones. Which, yes, is a rookie mistake for a writer. But I do like the concept of a witch being in a relationship with the Antichrist being a part of this story, especially because it’s similar to an accusation that was often leveled at so-called witches in real life. It would even be on brand for a creator whose stories are a parody of Christianity.
Also, Damian could probably help her out with her magic (which she seems to struggle with). He probably knows a thing or two about spells, growing up as demonic royalty. As a witch, Sahara could be someone his parents would approve of as well.
#3: Damian x Zill
Apparently the ship name for these two is “Hell Piñata” which is just excellent.
I’ll probably make a much longer post about why Damian and Zill are surprisingly compatible, but the quick version that misses a lot of nuance is that they’re essentially two sides of the same coin. Both are half demons, one who grew up in Hell and the other on Earth, experiencing the same character arc, just with one a few years behind the other in their progress on it.
Also, aside from Damian flirting with Kayla, they don’t seem to have any major issues with each other. In the comic, it seems like they’re at least casual acquaintances who hang out sometimes. And if that one issue was removed, they could probably have a much more meaningful relationship.
#4: Damian x Elijah and Damian x Ink
These two are tied in my book, and for the same reason: lack of information. Neither Elijah nor Ink appear in the comic, so it’s hard to get a grasp of what they’d be like with Damian.
There’s some ship art for both cases (more of Damian and Elijah, from what I can tell) and that sometimes helps me see how characters fit well together. It’s certainly part of why I’ve come to like Jack x Jill, despite the fact that Jill doesn’t have a big place in the comic either.
The way it looks to me, both of these are one-sided, but in opposite directions. From what I can tell, it seems like Elijah helps Damian suppress his worst impulses, helping him become a better person. Meanwhile, Ink is the one who needs Damian’s help to get freedom from her abusive mother. Both make someone’s life better, but the support each person in the couple gets is skewed.
#6: Damian x no one
If this one ended up being the canon result of a love-related B-plot for Damian, I would be happy with that. Because that could be so meaningful! The message that you don’t need a romantic relationship to have happiness and fulfillment is important! As is the one that being friends with someone you love can bring just as much value to your life as being romantically involved with them.
I think it would be a beautiful story in its own way if Damian went on a quest for love — perhaps exploring relationships with some of these people — and ended it with the realization that he didn’t need romance, he could just be happy to be himself and have a lot of close friends who loved him in their own way.
Last: Damian x Kayla
I say last because, if there are other characters who could be considered love interests for Damian at all, they definitely go above this one.
This, like Damian and Addison, doesn’t stand a chance at becoming canon. I think it’s a pretty safe guess that Zayla is another endgame ship, which I actually appreciate. Not all love stories have to be all-or-nothing, there’s plenty of ways to explore conflict within a committed relationship. Sometimes it’s more interesting than seeing how a relationship begins or ends.
I personally detest this pairing, and there’s too many reasons why to put here, but suffice it to say that this is the Snape x Lily of the Zoophobia fandom. I’ll probably go into more detail elsewhere about why I don’t like it. But venting about that is not what this is for, so I’m going to ignore the sexual harassment and everything for now and bring up a couple reasons to like this ship.
Which do exist! Even I will admit that there are some reasons it’s — if not good — at least interesting. The big one is an aesthetic reason: an “opposites attract” appeal, with Damian being demonic and Kayla being an angelic figure (as he often compares her to an angel himself).
Like I said, making writing choices for aesthetic reasons is a rookie mistake, but damn it, I do want to know what Kayla would do if she eventually became the queen of Hell. That would be glorious in its own way.
Another has to do with Zill and Damian having the same character arc at different times. Kayla was a lot of help to Zill in that part of his story, which makes the fact that Damian has a crush on her hilariously ironic. I guess the implication is that she could be the same supporting character for Damian. But also, this creates the same kind of imbalance that he might have with Elijah and Ink, so maybe not. And it’s kind of a disservice to Kayla’s character if she’s just a supporting role to whichever guy she’s dating.
And lastly, the idea of Damian getting to be with his crush is nice because frankly, he needs a break. Between his parents’ protectiveness and being ostracized as a demon, he needs to have something going for him. In a way, it would be satisfying to see him get what he really wants, even if that happens to be someone who doesn’t want him back.
