Yoneda-sensei on Twitter: Additional Questions
Yoneda-sensei answered some more questions on Twitter that didn’t make it into the fanbook, and there’s even one of our questions among them! She says she might reply to some more if she finds the time.
1) Do you know a lot about psychology?
Not at all. I used to be interested in psychology a very long time ago, but I’ve never studied it or even just read any proper books on the topic. I guess it’s worth learning about though.
2) How do you want your readers to read your works?
I want them to enjoy my works as they please. But drawing manga takes a lot of time, compared to how quickly you read them. That’s why I would be very happy if my readers didn’t just forget about my books, but opened them more than just once. After a few years or so is totally fine.
3) What’s your favorite line from all of your works?
It’s difficult to pick just one favorite ... But the first one that came to mind was, “When you say ‘I apologize’, you’re not in fact apologizing at all! Fucking apologize already!”
4) What’s your favorite scene?
I wouldn’t say it’s my absolute number one, but one favorite is definitely the scene starting from the funeral in Tadayoedo.
5) What music do you like to listen to lately?
On the second day of the exam & signing I played Aimer in the background. I haven’t really discovered any new artists lately. Aimer’s voice is especially beautiful when she sings live, so if you like her just a little bit I recommend seeing her in concert. I was able to get tickets for next year, so I’m going to see her again.
6) Do you like Omegaverse?
I’m not very familiar with the rules ... But I did read Romeo [by Watanabe Asia]!
7) Do you prefer drawing young men or middle-aged men?
I wonder from what age men would be considered middle-aged ... Yashiro definitely isn’t young anymore, so would he fall into that category? But if I think of Yashiro as middle-aged, I can’t see 29-year old Togawa as a young man either.
8) If you were to draw a sports manga ...?
I think sports manga are probably on the opposite side of the spectrum from my own works, because there isn’t much movement in my manga. I like the dignitiy of Kyuudo (Japanese archery) though.
9) If Yashiro had confessed to Kageyama in high school, would the two of them have started dating?
I’m sorry, but I think that would have been impossible. Kageyama probably would have put some distance between them for a while and afterwards, unable to cut ties with Yashiro, would have wanted to continue to be his friend. In the end Yashiro would have likely been the one feeling at a dead end and run away from Kageyama as a result.
10) Please tell us a background episode from the drama CD recording.
I can’t really say too much, but the seiyuu had to surpress their laughter when they recorded the bonus track. I made Misumi’s seiyuu Ookawa-san say something childish again ... (Yes, this is stealth marketing for the new CD LOL)
