No better reason to draw angsty fluff than Birthday Art!
So Happy Birthday @gruvu <33 Hope you had a great day!
It was @slack-water‘s birthday last week and like a MONSTER I didn’t draw anything. Please forgive me for being so SO SO LATE with these. Also it reminded me how I miss wolfhounds
I haven’t drawn my Dishonored ocs in 5 million years! so have some doodles of the Dunwall nerds <3
So a long time ago I had the idea to draw all my characters out in alphabetical order. I didnt get very far
So I did redraws of the only two I did (this being one of them)... now I can get to working on the rest! (heres the original in case you want to see my old art)
Lets try this again!
A is for Adelaide
@slack-water better post these cause these kids need lovin’
A Is for Adelaide
So i think im going to attempt to draw all my characters,portrait-y style, in alphabetical order, because there are so many of them that get no love and i have no up to date art of them whatsoever. (we’ll see if i actually stick to this)
Kicking this off with Miss Addy Wilder ;D
I love Addy!!! Shes one of the few dishonored ocs I love to see Can you tell tell us more about her and her partner? I don’t know who that guy is but give us the details please I love her
Well OF COURSE i can tell you more about my Dishonored trash child ;D
Brace yourself for a super long narrative that probably no one wants!!
Adelaide Wilder!
She’s a Dunwall native, her father was a Gristolian sailor and her mother a Serkonan songstress. She had two older brothers as well. Her looks are predominately Serkonan, and she catches a lot of grief for it, despite never having even been outside of Dunwall. She’s 26 during the events of Dishonored.
Her family was never wealthy, though her father made a decent living working on whailing ships. Addy couldn’t get enough of his sea stories and trinkets he would bring her from exotic ports. She would tell anyone that would listen about how she would travel the world one day on a ship of her own and captivated the neighborhood kids with repeated (and more than slightly exaggerated) sea stories from her father. Everything went south when he (and the entire ship he was on) went missing at sea during a storm when she was around 10 years old.
Her mother did her best to keep a roof over their heads by finding work in the factories, though it wasn’t long before the long hours and terrible conditions began to take a toll on her health. She fell back on her musical background and landed a job as an entertainer at the Golden Cat, while her brothers fell in with the Bottle Street gang. They were useful in a fight and good at intimidating anyone who owed money. It wasn’t long before young Addy followed in her brother’s footsteps and learned a good deal about picking pockets, picking locks, and getting into places she was certainly not supposed to be able to thanks to some of the more clever Bottle Street Boys. She quickly became a valued asset as a thief.
The money got better, but Addy’s relationship with her mother got worse once she discovered Addy’s foray into the world of Dunwall’s gangs, and her general inability to convince her children of the very real danger they were in. Their relationship declined further once Addy found out that her mother was offering more than just her songs to the Cat’s clientele. The final breaking of her mother’s spirit came when both of her brothers met a grisly end in a turf war with the Hatters. After that her mother would frequently seem apathetic, distant, and lost in her own thoughts. Addy finally cut ties with the Bottle Street Gang and started work as a bartender, partially out of fear of what happened to her brothers and partially in hopes of improving her mother’s condition. This neither improved her mother’s melancholy nor stopped the Bottle Street Boys from hounding her to return to her old profession.
Not long after the rat plague came to Dunwall, her mother fell ill (Addy was 24 at the time), and ended up leaving home with nothing but a note telling Addy how sorry she was. Addy resented her mother greatly for what she saw as giving up.
The owner of the pub for whom she worked was thankfully a family friend by the name of Jameson Tully who took pity on her once she was kicked out of the shoddy apartment that she and her mother had lived in and he gave her livingspace in the attic above the pub.(The pub is aptly named Tully’s Pub) Life in Dunwall was on a rapid decline and out of desperation she began working as a scavenger which inevitable lead to her returning to her life of crime, though this time she decided going freelance was a more profitable option. While the Bottle Street Gang is the one she is most frequently in contact with, she’s done work for or sold goods to pretty much all of the gangs in Dunwall.
(At some point I’ll decide her fate after the events of Dishonored…. does she end up in prison? die of the plague? live on to witness Delilah’s shenanigans? who knows!)
Her Personality: brash, confident and sharp witted.Feels secure in her ability to talk her way into, or out of, just about anything. Is much more perceptive and clever than she may appear. Secretive and doesnt trust easily. Not good at emotions.
She is practically illiterate, but better with numbers (its in her best interest to be good with money). What she lacks in classic knowledge, she makes up for in street smarts and an intricate knowledge of the city itself.
She actually cares a lot about Tully, the pub owner and family friend, as well as a few of the pub’s patrons whom she has gotten to know. Though despite any affections she might have, she’s learned to keep people at a distance.
Speaking of people she’s become close to….. I’m assuming youre referring to this fellow as her partner?
This guy is Abe Salvo and he belongs to @gruvu
He’s a Tyvian fisherman who ran to Dunwall to escape his gambling debts, and ended up in an arguably worse situation. He now works for the Bottle Street Gang, where he ends up assisting Addy on the occasional breaking and entering job as a lookout. He can throw a punch and looks rather intimidating, but other than that he makes for a pretty terrible criminal. He’s actually a very nice guy who happened to fall on hard times.
He becomes a regular at Tully’s Pub and they become friends, though for quite a while Addy refuses to admit that he’s anything other than an inconvenience to her. He develops quite the crush on her and does his best to convey that he cares about her. In the beginning shes mostly oblivious to any hints dropped, and later is mostly in denial about his increasingly obvious affections (and the fact that she possibly reciprocates them). Awkward hilarity ensues!
Another patron of Tully’s Pub is my Warren Delaney, a grouchy, disillusioned, pessimistic Overseer who frequents the pub to escape the rigors of life at the Abbey. He keeps his actual profession under wraps, telling anyone who asks about his line of work that he’s an accountant (which is not entirely untrue). Him and Addy seem to have a constant hostile banter going on between them, though he keeps coming back and she keeps pouring him drinks. Abe has decided that Warren is his friend, whether Warren wants to be or not.
some Abe and Addy.. I mean Miss Wilder sketches, involving an au where they are animals
