"Well greetings to you." The dark haired young woman nodded her head to the other.

Cupid liked the night, despite the darkness that he had feared so greatly during his lifetime. At night he could power down his wings and just walk, no commitments or obligations, hiding or wanting to be noticed. He could sit alone beneath the stars and allow himself just to exist without past or future, guard down and eyes cast upward to the endless blue-black sky. It wasn’t always peaceful, but the time was his and he treasured it dearly.

His stargazing was interrupted by the sudden distinct feeling of being watched; Cupid snatched his blindfold from the ground and fumbled to fasten it quickly back over his eyes. He didn’t bother getting to his feet: the odds were that the intruder was some lost hiker who couldn’t see him clearly anyhow, and he wasn’t going to move from his perch just for that. He did, however, turn to look towards the dark copse of trees from which he could’ve sworn he’d felt eyes on him. “Someone there?” he called, not really expecting an answer.

Someone watches the skies

He paused headlong in his flight, coming to a sudden stop. The moonbeams flying a bit farther forward before looping back to trail around him. He tilted his head confused, floating down to land easily, one foot neatly tucked behind a knee… Someone had been watching him. A glance at his dagger at least got a brilliant glowing smile to welcome these new faces.
