Adelaide Blake: Chapter 1
Adelaide Blake Profile
Adelaide Blake felt her whole body working; her leg muscles running warm, fresh air entered her lungs and blood flowed into all of her limbs. Her calves burned, in a familiar welcoming way. She pumped her legs, gaining momentum/speed with each push. Then her phone rang, making her body vibrate. Addie slowed down, her strides becoming steps. Plucking her phone from its resting place she answered it, putting it to her ear.
"Blake." She stated simply.
"We have a case, do you want me to pick you up?"
"Yeah, give me 20 minutes." After hanging up she stowed her phone and continued her run, she was almost back anyway.
Once inside she lifted her green cargo pants and pulled them on, pairing it with a plain black shirt. Tugging her steel caps on and attaching her gun and badge as well as two knives one she kept in the ankle of her boot, the other in a pocket of her pants. By the time she finished going to the bathroom and sliding an emergency bobby pin in the underside of her hair, she heard a honk outside signalling Danny's arrival. Addie shoved her phone in her pocket and walked outside getting into the right hand side of the car. She let out a small laugh when she saw Danny. Although he'd been living in Hawaii for quite a few months now, he still had no idea how stupid he looked with a tie.
He raised both his eyebrows as he backed out of the drive way, "what?"
"A tie, still? Really?" She joked.
Rolling his eyes he replied, "I'm telling you this is how a detective looks in Jersey, professional, besides, Grace gave me this one."
Adelaide shot him a warm smile, "ok, whatever suits your fancy, partner."
The two had been working together for a while now, Danny was like the sibling she never had. He had moved to Hawaii to be with his daughter, Grace, who mostly lived with his ex-wife, Rachele and stepdad Stan.
"How's Grace?"
"She's great, but Step-Stan bought her a real bunny for the show and tell," he replied rolling his eyes.
"Oh, so what are you going to do with the huge pink bunny in the back?" She motioned to the stuffed animal she helped him pick out.
They pulled up to a house as he shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know, maybe I'll give it to her later."
"Hm." She new he wouldn't.
They walk towards the house, "ok, what do we have here?"
Victim is John McGarret, a single gunshot wound to the head. He looks to have been held hostage and was severely beaten." Danny explained opening the door. There is a noise from the garage, Adelaide glanced at Danny, before whispering, "do you hear that?"
Taking their guns out they rounded the corner, to see a dark- haired man.
"You! Hands up! Don't move!" Adelaide yelled, causing him to turn around and pull out his own gun, aiming it at us.
"Who are you?" The man firmly questioned.
"Who are you? I am Detective Danny Williams, and this is Sargent Adelaide Blake." Danny shouted.
"Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett. This is my father's house!" He yelled back.
"Put your weapon down right now!"
"No, you put your weapons down!" McGarrett yelled at Danny. "Show me your IDs."
"No! You show me your ID, right now!" Danny shouted back at McGarrett.
"I'm not putting my gun down," He told them firmly.
"Neither are we," Danny replied.
"Use your free hand, and take out your IDs," McGarrett instructed.
"Please after you," Danny argued.
"Same time boys." Adelaide sighed.
"What like on the count of three?" Danny asked sarcastically.
"Sure. Okay, three's good." McGarrett starts to count.
"One."
"Two."
"Three."
