WIP Whenever

This is the very beginning of what I’m trying to write right now - the C-Sec ME3 Cerberus Takeover story I’ve been carrying around with me for so long but never found any energy to write. We’ll see how it goes. It’s slow, and depressing, but I hope I’ll get there, one word at a time.

At first, they didn’t think it strange, their omni-tools giving a flicker, the C-Sec channel they were supposed to drop in periodically changing to static. They were on stand-by duty, and there were more pressing matters to attend to. Around them, the galaxy was going up in flames, but just for this day, they could pretend everything was but a bad dream.

Two forceful blows shook the door to Chiho’s apartment, making her jump.

“Fuck those salarians!”

A couple more casual insults falling from her lips, she climbed off the bed and fished for her panties and a tank top.

Because I just got up and I'm working through my waking up, breakfast OC preferences for as many as you would like to do. Wake up with enough time to fix something? Eat on the go? Skip it altogether? Copious amounts of coffee or coffee equivalent?

Obviously I had to do this for the Presidium 14 Squad….

Quintus: Gets up late, runs late even more because he takes way too much time prettying himself up and dressing snazzily. Always resorts to a cup of kava on the go and a greasy meat pastry, while vowing to himself to get up earlier the next time. He always slides into the meeting room last, but somehow manages to be on time.

Chiho: Good at waking up early. Takes 20mins max from horizontal to vertical and ready to go. May have some juice or tea while standing up, and eats either yesterday’s leftovers or a ration bar on Rapid Transport.

Alena: Likes to sleep in. Skips breakfast, will have asari coffee equivalent at the station before her shift, and grazes on snacks all morning because she’s hungry and/or bored

Francesco: Would like to sleep more, but of course mom wakes him on schedule. She has four kids and knows all of their timetables. They all get to sit down at the table and she’ll prep a nice healthy breakfast for them, with as close to a cappuccino as you can make on the Citadel. Gotta make sure the boys are fed and healthy, no?

And as an extra, the three ensigns:

Tyres: Not a fan of waking up, but will do it. Skips breakfast often because he dawdles away time scrolling through the news or his messages. Stays hungry all morning and devours mindboggling amounts of food at lunch

Acilia: Is okay with waking up and takes her time. Has a nutritious breakfast in the galley and exactly one bowl of kava. Doesn’t like kava very much but it’s the adult thing to do, so…

Leucen: Takes at least three hours to wake up. Will have something sweet and choice of caffeinated beverage while either Acilia or Tyres drag him towards the bridge. Will open the second eye halfway through morning shift

For the C-sec squad: There’s a new show on the extranet that everyone is talking about. It’s 10, 1 hour episodes. Who’s pulling the all nighter binge watching? Who’s trying pace themselves and draw it out? Who doesn’t watch TV? Etc.

Ohoho. Bold of you to assume they wouldn’t ALL pull an all nighter binge watching it ;)

So.. probably it would go like this:

Quintus would obviously invite everyone for a binge-watching party, because we all know he has no self restraint. Chiho would come and spend the first hour bitching about the ‘stupid show’ but will be hooked very soon - the bitching is a reflex so it’s hard to suppress. She’ll sit there and ‘suffer’ through all ten episodes just to show everyone how stupid the show is (of course...)

Alena and Francesco will come mostly for the company, and make a valiant effort at staying awake. First one to fall asleep is Alena because as always she drinks too much too fast and is out like a light snoring under the couch after 2 episodes max. Francesco stays awake a little longer, but he’s a Good Boy (TM) and follows curfew, lest his mom worries. Yes he’s 32. No it doesn’t bother him.

He’ll ho and hum and watch 5 of 10 episodes and then really, really has to leave. Will leave, and watch another episode in bed because he’s unable to sleep. Paces himself to watch the last four as a reward after his shifts.

So bottom line: Quintus binge-watches because he’s easily excited and loves new stuff. Chiho binge-watches because she can’t let Quintus win. Francesco usually paces himself but will watch more if his friends are there. And Alena only saw the pilot episode, tells herself to do it later, and probably will never finish the show because she’ll get distracted halfway ^^

I think most of them have stayed the same (yeah, because I didn‘t get to write them as much as I wanted, ahem), but I did start writing a new WIP for the Presidium 14 Squad and I would say Quintus has softened quite a bit from how I wrote him first? I mean he‘s still full of himself and likes to brag, but I notice he‘s become softer, more understanding. Don‘t know yet if that‘ll work out and if it fits him - but 2021 is for writing more, so we‘ll see where it’ll lead me :)

This is kind of a broad question, but do any of your OCs go to casinos?

The only ones who do are Quintus and Alena, who sometimes go to gamble away some credits after they get their paychecks! While both of them aren’t great at saving money, they are good enough at keeping each other in check so they don’t overdo it ;)
