Send a 🍳 and my muse will cook something for you
"Hi Eddie, good to see you again!" Khare says brightly as the diner door swings open. Fuzzy memory or no, there was no mistaking that sharp green suit or flash of red hair, Edward Nygma still retaining his iconic style as a detective - not to mention a healthy appetite for good food.
The way he's walking, however... it was clear Edward had a rough night and wanted - no, needed a solid pick-me-up. Khare is quick to show him to his favourite seat, a quiet place away from the chatter of other customers, settling him down with a fresh cup of coffee while he decides what to order.
Or not. Edward slumps in his seat. Dear lord, the man was tired. Even the coffee isn't doing much for him at the moment and Khare's concern only increases when it looks like he'd about to nod off at any moment. He'd have to wait for his meal, but then again, there was one dish he'd order most often, before he'd had a long string of cases keeping him busy.
Too busy to eat regularly, probably. Khare hoped he hadn't been skipping meals, forgetting he needed food between his work.
What was it he liked again? Oh yeah, chocolate chip pancakes.
"Work keeping you busy, huh? We were starting to worry when you hadn't stopped by in a while." Khare says, mostly out of habit and to make sure Edward was really okay and hadn't, you know, passed out from low blood sugar or something. This finally gets a response from the man, Edward making a sound between a mumble and an "Mmmyeah" which makes Khare sigh in relief that he hadn't passed out and was just very tired, and very, VERY hungry after work.
"I'll be right back. You just sit tight and rest up," Khare says quietly before leaving to attend to another order and stopping by the kitchen. It's not long before the diner is full of good smells, an especially chocolately aroma filling the room as she returns to Eddie's side with a stack of fluffy pancakes...
"There you are, Eddie. This should help you feel better, and, uh, don't worry about the cost. This one's on the house as long as you remember to stop by more frequently." Khare says, with a mock wagging of her finger as Edward stirs in his seat.
@eclipscius
what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?

@eclipscius
Hmmmm. Honestly, I don't think I've ever hated any characters because of the fandom yet, but I've experienced people bashing ships I like in order to prop up other ships (as if endgame matters or multishipping isn't a thing) that does nothing to endear me to the characters in the ship, and has turned me away from them for a bit which is a little saddening. In that case it was Stephanie B., but I honestly don't have anything against her character or that ship, and I do like her character, though I do need to read more of her. I just needed to be away from that noise.
Okay, it's a hard pick as there's a few but this is probably one of my favourite icons for him? It's close up, the colours are bold and striking, there's nice lighting going on and it's a neutral talking expression, it really shows off his nice cheekbones and peculiar anatomy going on around the mouth. Also nice snek pecs!
@eclipscius asked: Did Rose ever tell Leon not to do things, because it might ruin the league's image?
YES. Oh my god, yes.
One example that comes to mind is Charizard. When Leon took the Championship, he was still a Charmeleon. The League were fine with this, they actually thought it quite endearing to have a Champion they could watch grow up alongside his chosen partner. But when Char evolved into the massive Charizard he is now... A lot of that endearment was lost. It was no longer cute, it was intimidating, and they tried several times (often involving Rose) to convince Leon to change his ace.
It will scare away the Challengers, Leon! Don’t you want to stay popular?
And he did, but not at the cost of replacing his best friend. Leon eventually made a case for Charizard being a good way to popularise the idea of Gigantamaxing, and once the League saw what a hit Char was out on the battlefield, they dropped all of these complaints.
Also, the League’s marketing team really didn’t like Leon getting into a relationship. Much of his popularity came from his sex appeal, being young and handsome and (most importantly) single, so to hear him settling down with a long-term girlfriend wasn’t news they wanted to get. Thankfully they never mentioned this to Leon himself, or else there would have been a lot of arguments caused, but it was a concern among them.
@eclipscius || Songs That Remind Me of Spirit || ACCEPTING
Wait For It- Hamilton
I am the one thing in life I can control
(Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, wait for it)
I am inimitable
I am an original
I'm not falling behind or running late
(Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, wait for it)
I'm not standing still
I am lying in wait (Wait, wait, wait)
Why: Wait For It is a song I think really represents Spirit’s mentality and feelings when he decides to go through with taking Galar’s Gym Challenge. I made a separate post with more of the lyrics, but a lot of Spirit’s motivation for wanting to become Champion of Galar was to prove that he had not fallen behind the rest of his peers.
That he hadn’t wasted literal years of his life while others made bigger names for themselves. That he was just as skilled, if not more skilled than some of his peers in the Galar league, Leon included.
