Reflection 3

During this week I learned about many things related to arts and paintings. We also watched a video about Henri Matisse, which gave me more information about my topic Fauvism.

Moreover, I have been reading some books that are related to fauves and fauvism to help me write my research paper.

Furthermore, we have worked in pairs to apply the “Elements and Principles of Design Matrix” to Henri Matisse painting titled “Young Girl with a Yellow Sofa”. Then each group have discussed the painting in a class discussion to help us in our interview.

Class activity - Research Paper

The four major parts of a research paper are as listed below: - Title Page. - Abstract. - Main Body. - Reference list. An abstract is a summary of the written research paper, it should be 120 words or less. It should include 4 or 5 main points. The recommended font to use in this document is Times New Roman in the size of 12px. The spacing should be double spacing with 1 margins in all of the sides. The running head is the top part of the research paper and it goes in the Heading part of the paper. Things that should be included in the title page are, the title of the paper, the authors name.

Essential Elements For Research

There are many essential elements for a research paper, below are some points along with its description.

- Topic: The main topic or subject of the research.

- Introduction: a brief introduction about the written topic.

- Table of Content: some research papers include a table of content that lists all of the main headings, sub headings, and any other pages that are included in the paper.

- Notes/Plan: This will not be included in the final paper, however it is a draft of what I might want to include in the paper, some ideas, and my initial plan on how to write the paper.

- Conduct research: finding information needed about the suggested topic, and paraphrase it and change it to you-r own words and understanding.

- Trusted sources: Including information from trusted sources and websites.

-  Sample of work: adding quotes, pictures or any other sample of work that would help in the process of writing the research paper.

- SMART: which stands for, Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time.

- In-text referencing: adding in-text referencing of materials and text that were taken from other sources.

- Reference list: a list of all the materials that were taken from the internet or from a book or any other sources.

Advanced Design For The Web

This week we have started a new subject called "Advanced Design For The Web", which is related to Graphic Design and arts.

Each student was assigned to work on a specific topic, and I was assigned to work on the art of "Fauvism".

In class we had an introduction about the subject, the assignments along with its requirements and gradings. We have also discussed some points that will help us collaborate in order to know how and what to post weekly on Tumblr, the discussed points are listed below.

- Experience, challenges and the process of working.

- Things that inspires me such as, music, videos, quotes..etc.

- Class activities.

- Links to useful and related information.

- Class summary.

- Class discussions.

- Reviews.

- Employability skills that were gained.
